Dave Small is a good guy. If you had a hard time with him, maybe take a look in the mirror.

Re: Air Canada Ultimatum
Ask for a signing bonus up front that you’re confident would grow to the equivalent value of the AC pension at retirement since that’s what you’d be turning your back on.
600k at 5% over 25 years would be about 2mil for example.

F#ck yeah it’s worth it. After 25 years, I still love it. I never went airlines though, so can’t speak to that.

Don’t count on any at airsprint… they tell the clients “don’t worry about tipping the pilots, their tip is built into their pay…” 🙄 I can understand a company not wanting to have a weird dynamic for their clients where tipping is expected. I’m not a waitress so have always felt a bit odd when someo...

I can’t comment on knowledge gained on fire patrol, but can say the solidification of IFR knowledge I gained teaching IFR has served me well over my career.

Re: Keewatin ad
That reads like an ad to give internal candidates a big advantage in dealing with HR. 4000hrs for a jet captain in the arctic sounds pretty low to me tbh, but maybe not for someone who has been riding right seat for a couple years. Sounds like that’s who they will get, and all power to them. I don’t...

Whoopsies. I guess I just labelled an entire segment of our industry. Sorry ‘bout that. As you wheel through the terminal with your matching bags, don’t worry. Probably no one notices. No one is judging.

Fwiw, anyone with matching luggage is a bit of a douche in my book. Be proud you haven’t wasted money trying to be a fancy boy. Luggage comments telling of who is complaining here.

Re: Recent issues in Red Lake
Idk guys. I feel like I get pretty good service at MFs. Every once in a while at a quiet airport there is a short delay, but I get that it is because they are working multiple frequencies. Maybe if you’ve got some chill pills you can munch on for 5 seconds next time, that’ll take care of the issue. ...
