Re: Air Sprint Questions

Greetings to all, I hope all is well and everyone is staying safe from this crisis. I had a small question for HR. What would happen if we were put into a pool for future positions. With this crisis; does that blow us out of the water for any future positions when this thing subsides or do we remain...

737 to 787 Upgrade Times

Greetings to everyone!

With the the growth plans and recent acquisition by ONEX, i was curious to know what one could expect for the length of time from 737 equipment to 787 upgrade bid? I’ve tried to dig through previous posts, couldn’t find anything. Thanks guys! Info much appreciated:)

Cheers

Re: Hiring?

Greetings all! My strong apologies with a stupid question to follow. Since we all know how much the industry has changed and we do indeed see the so-awaited shortage. I’m curious to know how flexible AT is with their required experience. Is the 2000 hours minimum a hard requirement even if you you h...

Re: 1000 hour pilots

I can confirm IFR is way easier than VFR, especially in dense airspace. Although there is a little more to learn in the IFR world, almost everything IFR is already made for you when you fly. From SIDs to Arrivals and STARS, all you do is you follow the instructions on paper/Ipad and ATC instructions.

Re: 1500 hr min

Typical Canadian and North American response: the 1500 hours for a job. Ridiculous. As a Canadian having lived overseas most of my life...I despise this and it Irritates me so much to hear about a 1500 hour rule. Reality Check...the only countries that are sustaining this despicable regulation are t...

The Hiring Tsunami numbers updates:

Dear Fellow Airmen, Greetings. It might feel like things are slowing down, but I can reassure you they are not. I think a couple of HR departments and training departments might be overwhelmed right now. They better got used to this. I got message that Jazz has 8 months to recruit 150 pilots approx....

Re: Interview call back time ?

Greetings Fellow Airmen, Curious to know how many weeks after an Interview may we receive a rejection letter if unsuccessful. According to a few posts on this thread, more than a few weeks might be good, but for some, could be unsuccessful. Would be great to have some info in regards to this. Do not...

Air Transat 2016/2017 recruitement situation

Greetings All! Just wanted to post a quick subject in regards to AT. Since Every major airline/regional is now expanding, I was wondering what Transat's situation was. I know they did hiring last year due to the new 737NG fleet. But haven't heard anything from that company ever since. Any News? Than...

Let me make this clear NickyNick, maybe what I'm going to say next will stop you From posting your stupid repetitive comments in every single forum on Avcanada. I have a good friend who is Captain on the BE20 with way less than 2000 hours, just almost 100 hours PIC on the BE20 and he already has int...

Stagnation is true. That is why the only way to mainline is through Encore. And to get to Mainline from Encore...expect a good 5 to 7 years approx.

Re: Jazz interview.

For the fixed SIMS, the YYZ one is performed at the B737NG simulator at the back of the Threshold Aviation pilot store. Pretty nice machine. Its a good idea to rent it for a few hours to get used to it if you get a Sim evaluation. I think it goes for 140$ and hour. The Sim eval is pretty standard. T...

Re: Perimeter aviation vs transwest air? Help

Avoid these two like the plague. As many have stated, regardless of how the Aviation industry is...the wait is fairly long. Everyone I know that went through there did a good 2 years AVERAGE. The people that tell you 6 months to a year....well I still yet to have confirmations from more than 5 guys....

FO pay I heard a while back can be as ridiculously low as 25 000$ per year. You fly alot....but is that really worth it for 800 Dollars per paycheck every two weeks?

Re: Hiring Outlook

Its all about the math. The economy is just a small factor that is probably harmless at this point. - The majors and regionals have, up to this point, acquired dozens of additional equipment. Aircraft deliveries are supposed to roll in at least until 2020 and beyond. - We have come to a timeframe wh...
