Speedbird lives up to the name.

Speedbird 112 was the fastest subsonic plane to take advantage of the super duper jetstream this weekend for the NY to London route. Top groundspeed for the 747 reached 720kts. They broke the record by 17 minutes and took 4:56 to do the trip. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/british-airways-fast-f...

How did both stories miss stating that the wheel was bursting into flames just before falling off?
CBC mentioned it.

Many outlets have covered such sensational news. But few want to report facts do they?
Fixed the headline, but isn't comparing Jazz to Air Canada like comparing Chevrolet to Buick?

Worst Dutch Roll ever, side by side cockpit. I can think of many better form platforms out there... How many hours do you have in the Tutor? 450 hrs and still flying it. Way to screw up my comeback about leaving the critiques to the people who actually fly the things...(walks away grumbling) What w...

Re: Snowbird 5 Ejected in Atlanta

I'm also curious how big the pool of Tutors is that the Snowbirds have to pull from. Did you try Google? Although the CL-41 Tutor has been retired from active training, 22 Tutors continue to fly with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment at CFB Cold Lake. A ...

Re: File under Darwin Award Contender.

The criteria for a Darwin Award requires one to remove oneself from the gene pool, typically by death, or loss of that particular ability to reproduce.

Since this guy survived, he wouldn't be a candidate.

Re: Ethiopian Airlines: 'No survivors' on crashed Boeing 737 max

Here is something else that might be a link, could these incidents have been terrorism related after all? CNN is reporting on an AA mechanic who admitted that he tampered with a 737 (not Max) in July. "The defendant also received a news article from an unknown sender referencing the Lion Air crash t...

Re: Door Opening Caused Accident

You're not a Cherokee pilot officially till you've had the door pop open in flight. Non-event, just a bit noisy. There is only 1 way to get it to close again in flight - side slip into the wind and pop the little window open to create suction as you latch it. I saw a picture of a cabinet handle scr...

Re: A321 off airport landing - Aug 15 - 2019

And another A320. I have no clue what the aircraft stats are for birds bringing down a twin engine aircraft, but two high profile situations and both A320. I know bird strikes can't be avoided, but might there be some design issue that makes this plane more susceptible? A “design issue” that makes ...
