i think it would be better to treat a pilot with depression, than to have the pilot potentially go untreated in fear of losing his/her licence. There doesn't seem to be a rule about flying with a mental illness, just about being treated.
just a thought

Pilot Weight?
I've noticed a few threads here that mention the importance of a Pilots weight, This goes hand in hand with health. Are there any advantages/disadvantages when it comes to getting a job. Are lightweights more readily hired? Or is this not really an issue at all. What are the legalities of not hiring...

Re: Best Bear gun?
Its one thing to protect yourself, (gun, bear bangers, spray) but it seems as though everyone here is waiting for an opportunity to shoot and kill a bear, just so they have the story to tell. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is the vibe I'm getting. The Best Bear gun? One that convinces a threatening bear ...

I'm new to this so please forgive my ignorance, How does one with a TC commercial heli licence fly in other countries. Does the company get approval to let its pilots fly, is it better to have an FAA or JAA in these cases. I haven't gotten my licence yet, but I do know that I want to be able to fly ...

Can anyone here give any advice on this highly advertised flight school. What about Licencing in the US? Is there any advantages? As Canadians, do we have a bias towards the US training. Would rather do it here, just trying to do my research as thoroughly as possible. Maybe I'm being too picky? Any ...

Re: Helipad requirements for hospitals?
hmm, I actually don't have an answer for this. Just caught my eye because I had the exact same thought earlier today.. my best guess would be a concrete slab on the ground, unless were talking rooftop, then, I would guess the building would have had to be designed for this from day 1,

So, as an aspiring heli pilot, can anyone reassure me that as the Pilot in command it will be easier to deal with, or am I being too optimistic. I don't really get it too severely and it seems to take a while for it to kick in, but occasionally has left pretty hurtin' What can you experienced folk t...

So, now in my early thirties, I've decided to make a career move into flying Heli's. I pretty much have the money saved to take the time off and attend a school of my choice. I'm in no hurry to find a school, but would like to start before fall of next year if at all possible. Was wondering if I cou...

US HELICOPTER SCHOOLS
I've begun researching flight schools in Canada and also the US. Being Canadian, my first instinct was a Canadian school, however, after looking around, it seems to me that US schools off about twice the hours for roughly the same price... just wondering what people think about this? What is the pro...
