Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots

GATRKGA, you're disappointed, it's normal when one realizes he made a bad decision. However you should refrain from putting the blame on other people's luck. You don't know what they've done, what they went through or how they performed. since the beginning of this pml concept with jazz and the SR c...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

There are some pilots who have now taken very expeditious paths to Air Canada, good for them, who cares? If you always wanted to fly for AC why does that make you want to any less? as far as I enjoy reading your posts Stig, this is the wrong thinking in the industry right now. the "who cares" and "...

Re: When will the movement slow down or stop?

music will stop when people start defaulting on their car and credit card payments, goodbye airplane tickets, welcome bus/train tickets, goodbye holidays. nobody knows when that will happen. as for hiring, stop taking low paying jobs and in the end, salaries might increase. don't forget the airline ...

I'd say keep trying as long as you keep the faith alive.
by that time, you will eventually find something that will fullfill your career goals and make AC look less interesting in comparison.

Re: Is anyone seeing pay increases?

shortage in mom and pop ops certainly : low timers have understood that the shortest way to airlines is the regional way and not the mom and pop way anymore.
the former shows that pilots will always manage to get a low pay whatever the path.
peace.

Let's say there are 400 OTS short listed
you're reasoning might be good but without a reliable/verified exact number the projection doesn't make sense.

so how come delta is able to generate a 28% op margin AND increasing pay ?
SouthWest 22% and they have the best paid pilots in the country (hear say) ?
jetblue is not far behind.

So, what's so specially different in Canada ?

because it's in the rules doesn't mean it's not tiring. mind you : coming back from Europe with a morning departure, even thought it's day light, your body is telling you it's still the middle of the night and you just walk up at 3/2am Canadian time and even earlier if you live in yyc/yvr. 14hrs dut...

Re: WestJet flights to London prompting a wave of complaints

it works better backwards. if it’s no longer an experiment than it has to continue to provide economics that make it in our best interest to expand that fleet. And I’m hoping that we’ll get to an engagements that results in a good answer for all WestJet including our pilots. So if we can’t co...

hiring has nothing to do with growth. earnings and profit margin only count, numbers, ASM, CASM,..., all the things realx has been deciphering previously. your legitimate enthusiasm from a pilot pov is not the same as a CFO, or a bean counter. one could wonder what a 10/20% increase on the jet gallo...
