Re: Ice Pilots - Season 3

This IS why we have bonds guys...why is that so hard for some to comprehend?? Fly safe all. No buddy, You have bonds because you take advantage of your employees and expect them to take advantage of you. When they return the favor you scream about the money you spent on their PPC. You never hear ab...

I was wondering if anyone knows a place to get some good IFR flying done in the winter months? Preferably with some nice glass panel :smt040

Re: Aviation World (YYZ)

I would like to apologize to anyone who feels they had a less than positive experience in our Toronto store (or any of our stores for that matter). I'll be the first to admit we've had issues with maintaining strong inventory levels, and we've had a few of our staff leave for flying jobs recently (...

Re: Avcanada forums.

O.K. lets try again. which got me to wondering what forum people read for information and entertainment? So far no one has answered my question as to which forum they find the most informative....like for instance " General " " Flight training " Accidents, incidents " etc. For the most part I stick...

Re: Avcanada forums.

When I first started reading and posting on AVCANADA the forum that interested me most was flight training because that was the area of flying that I earned my living in. However over the last few years I have gradually moved away from that forum because I found that the industry has changed to the...

Re: Aviation World (YYZ)

I was in there about two weeks ago and yes the glass case with the electronics did seem empty but I did not see these "New People" and the people working there seemed quite friendly. Is it possible the ownership changed recently?

Re: Ice Pilots - Season 3

Training pilots is part of the business. You figure out what your training costs are going to be, how many revenue hours you fly, and then you come up with an amortized figure to add to your rates. You've got to factor in attrition. Joe is smart enough to know by now that Buffalo isn't for everybod...

This is an interesting question.... The Captain is the PIC The First Officer is the SIC. If you have been given the title, no need to be embarrassed or uncomfortable with the title.  Be proud of your assignment and respect the responsibility you have been given.  Having pride is not the same as bei...

Wow, why isn't anyone proud of this profession anymore? Yes, the guy who flies the Caravan is the "Captain" What gives around here? Cruise ships have the ability to isolate people to their rooms, and some have a brig. Do airplanes?

Re: CBC and bad aviation "stories"

I don't expect CBC to report on aviation stories at a level of detail or terminology that professional pilots would be seeing in the language of, say, an accident report or Aircraft Flight Manual. However, I do expect them to get the facts right and report in laymans terms. Perhaps describing thing...

Re: TAWS

Why is TCAS not mandated for all commercial aircraft in Canada? I think this is a good step forward but I think a big opportunity to advance safety has been missed. Not too many controllers, in the North and when VIS is low you might avoid flying into that mountain but if you then have a midair coll...

I don't get it Cat. I'm safer in a single, because I'm too much of a ham fisted twat to fly a twin with one feathered? Hey all I have been wondering what people are using for sleeping aids? Seeing as how duty times could have us flying from 2300 - 0900 and then having our rest period during the day. So what do you use and does it leave any effects around for after you wake up? Thanks in advance for everyone's storie...
