Re: CanJet Ready To Go It Alone
Face it,like many airlines out there operating for years,Transat has gotten too expensive for the market enviroment. They can operate like Air Canada and loose money just to hold the market or farm out the lift.Canjet can do it much cheaper and thats what the competition demands.Thats the new reality...

Just a matter of time before one of the players drops out of the race again. Not enough traffic for all to stick arround.

Re: CanJet Ready To Go It Alone
All I can say is that no mater what happens he will either make money or not loose money and in the process he will make Transat exec look like amateurs. Its not about him wanting to run an airline.Thats just put out by IMP for the media.I am sure of that.He employs some of the tactics that Onex has ...

Re: Oh the sky keeps falling......
The trouble is that as pilots, we are used to watching what we hope is stable indications (wx, engine, pax, etc etc) for a negative trend, or sometimes ANY change whatsoever. Perhaps this makes us hyper sensitive to a string of bad news. Maybe, just maybe, it helps us notice it and like the frog in...

Re: Worked for PAL contract. Company refuses to pay flight h
If there are safety concerns report them.TC will listen.Nobody gets punished for reporting safety issues anymore. If there are contract issues get a lawyer. I am not mixing the two issues. You are. What does your contract say? Does it state that PAL will pay for your flight home? If not, you're out o...

Re: New letter to CIC against the use of Foreign National pi
This protest will get as much concern from the Harper government as ACPA got during the arbitration process.Business will again win.Pilots will not dictate how the airlines will operate.

Re: New letter to CIC against the use of Foreign National pi
Great post Gilles! Thank you for taking a stand for all of us. Oh please give that crap up.OceanGal got it right. Why should a group of protesting pilots have any say in the sustainable business models of Canjet or Sunwing.Pretty bold, pretty selfish. They don't make airlines so pilots have somewhere ...

Re: Air Canada hires senior Harper aide as government liaiso
Very appropriate since Harper appears to channel Yosemite Sam when determining conservative government policy. I have a solution! Why didn't I think of this earlier??? Harper should throw out all his advisers and listen to high ranking aviation forum members. They are experts in airline operations ...

Re: Air Canada hires senior Harper aide as government liaiso
How does stripping labour and industry of the ability to negotiate mutually agreed upon contracts benefit anybody in the short or long term? How does it benefit the workers who believe or not are also the customers? How does it benefit the industries who are now saddled with a deeply dissatisfied a...

Re: Air Canada hires senior Harper aide as government liaiso
Neither you or the conservatives know or care what the public wants. It's how much of their ideological agenda they can get away with by framing the discussion around the inane "talking points" that you seem fond of repeating. I know in the movies much like this thread Rockie will return 7 times.To...

Re: Air Canada hires senior Harper aide as government liaiso
Zip tie. A majority mandate does not mean the majority of voters support the conservatives. Check the election results again, 60.3% of those that voted did not want a conservative government or their agenda. And once again, the economy has nothing to do with it. It is brainless, cartoonish, black a...
