Wanted: Block Time YVR Area

Hello,

Looking for a C150 or similar small single to rent for some night XC time for my A's. Interested in getting about 15 hours. I'm a YVR based FO, with 1600 TT consisting of mostly PIC time. I have a vehicle so anywhere in the lower mainland works for me.

Thank you

Thanks Rowdy! Sorry, don't mean to hijack this topic. I would definitely recommend Air-Hart in kelowna. Top notch service and instruction.

Looking for Blocktime in Vancouver

hello, I am a UBC student with CPL and float rating living in Vancouver for the winter months. I am interested in staying current over the winter and so I am looking for someone with a floatplane that would be willing to rent out on an hourly or block time basis. Of course I understand that you woul...

Absolutely love this thread! Re: Piston Otters

There are lots in Red Lake. Green's, Chimo, and Lac Seul Airways to name a few. Excellent Adventures in Ear Falls has an otter. I'd be interested to know how many standard otters are left, as far as I can tell most of the ones I've seen around here have the polish conversion

Re: Minnow Pilots

I agree, but I talked to a few places this year when I was job hunting who looked at me kind of funny when I told them that I was 18 and wanted to fly their C180. I'm just thinking that the typical passenger might not feel as safe in a small plane with a recent high school graduate at the controls. ...

Minnow Pilots

Hi everyone, I am working as a dockhand in Red this summer, and now that things have settled down into a daily routine I have started to think about what I want to do next summer. I understand that there may not be many places that are going to want to have an 19 year old pilot fly their precious gu...

Re: Day off in Red Lake

Good ideas, especially the museum one I hadn't even thought of that.

And don't you worry boys, I've got tons of beers in my room that I use regularly!
I swear I saw something in the CARS that said dockhands had to be at least hungover if they weren't drunk!

Day off in Red Lake

Hi everyone, quick question.

What is there to do in Red Lake on your time off? And unfortunately "going to the Howey for a beer" isn't a valid answer because I'm only 18 :D. Anyone find something cool to do around the lake or in the area?

Thanks guys!

Re: Gear to bring up north

Check! Hey one more thing, what's the deal with guns out there? Is there usually a gun or something at the camps or in the plane for safety? I'm nowhere close to being a gun person, its just out of curiosity. :bear:

Gear to bring up north

Hi everyone, I just got hired as a dockhand with an operator out of Red Lake, ON. While I am very excited to start working soon, I don't know exactly what I should be bringing there for the season as gear. I don't think I am the only one in this situation, but after searching the forums with no resu...

Re: Properly calculating endurance

Yes I agree, I was just wondering for a flight test we have to calculate two different endurances: one for the planned NAV flight, and one for the actual flight test. The endurance section on the flight plan sheet would be total time in tanks, as you said.

Properly calculating endurance

Hey everyone, This is a question that arises all the time at my flight school: "What is the proper way to calculate flight endurance?" On the flight test they will ask you how much time do you have in the tanks, and a lot of different people have a lot of different way of getting to a lot of differe...
