WX was fine. They lost the engine right after rotation. Payload seemed to be about 15 pax or so, about 1/2 full.

Yes Joe does fly the Sched. Apparently they had 2 DC3's heading to YHY on the Sched. Heard Joe was flying the first bird, the second plane was the one that went down.

Looks like they crashed at the field after attempting a 180. Everyone made it off with minor injuries. That's good news as YZF was a bit tense for about an hour while the details emerged.

Hay River Sched DC3 down at YZF. Had engine problems and crashed trying to return to the field.

It is true, pilot/owner was killed. Knew him very nice person, very sad.
