Re: Rise Air 705
I'm not sure why pilot utilization is lower today. It's a general industry trend across all 704/705 lite. 1000hrs a year is the current limit, but that's still only 5.5hrs a day working 15 days/month. Not a whole ton of flying. Is it a lack of support and pilots are wasting duty time on tertiary du...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024
Should keep the Swoop table on as a reminder for future reference that someone whored their selves out for less than 100k/yr to fly a 737. Agreed, It's perfect for the next low cost carrier to reference so they know just how little pilots will actually work for and to remind the current ones how fa...

Re: Metro 3 ( dangerous as they say it is )
Bit of an insult to say shitty pilots. Maybe pilots with shitty training due to working for shitty companies and a lack of good Metro sims. I mean to say that they lack experience. What does a typical Metro FO have today? 250 hours? Not even enough PIC to get PICUS. What does a typical Metro captai...

Well done, hindsight is 20/20 and green is green.
Life experience often teaches you to undo whatever action you did prior to the issue, in this case they switched fuel tanks. Hopefully Sault College teaches that concept

From TSB..... "C-FPQQ, a Beech B200 operated by Keewatin Air LP., was conducting flight KEW213-M from Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson Intl Airport (CYWG), MB to Churchill Airport (CYYQ), MB. Shortly after takeoff, the #2 engine (Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42) torque rolled back. The flight cre...

Re: Air Tindi Twin Otter Down
Glad to see everyone is walking away from it. Tindi’s Twin Otters have unlucky/lucky lately with bent metal being the issue. Marginal ski flying in high winds with low vis due blowing snow over frozen lakes has caused more than a few accidents. I can think of a few that thankfully ended with everyo...

Re: Help looking for historic merger data
Yes, the term is "no bump, no flush" and is pretty standard with ALPA mergers. Then your schedule, equipment bid, etc is based on your system seniority date. How your system seniority is calculated is where it can get messy. Ideally DOH if it's a merger vs purchase but often the smaller carrier's pi...

Re: Zero Jazz flying(YWG)
If you're referencing the AC timetable; don't it's been wrong post COVID (still shows aircraft types no longer flown ETC). Where would the departures be to then? YWG is gone... MAF may be still around at AC's discretion... but where else??? I personally went to ac.com and tried various bookings out...

Before you ask, chew with your mouth closed, with your tongue moving the food from side to side and your jaw rotating slightly. Chew slow and steadily, counting to 32 with each bite. We don't expect you to count 32 times, but just ensure the food in your mouth loses all of its texture before swallo...

I don’t know that the interview at perimeter is like. But I can almost guarantee you it’ll be the same as most other airlines. Tell us about yourself. Why perimeter? What do you know about us? Typical questions on Eligibility… do you have permission to work in Canada… etc Then probably a couple beh...

Re: Air Inuit to Add Three 737-800 aircraft
No new money for paved runways. Just a different business model now using Dash 8 freighters, etc. Canadian North parked their last -200 finally too. Interesting purchase for Air Inuit. Are we finally going to see an improvement to the aviation infrastructure in the north? New runway surfaces to repl...

Exactly! And with 2000 cancellations and delays over the long weekend, wasn’t that a good idea? The mood of the present MEC is that there will be no bargaining capital. There will be no concessions “traded”. you mean, they assume they won't be getting a much better contract than the actual ? Or i r...

It would be helpful if you could post the source of your initial post Pelmet. TPC All the incident posts are from the TSB. Link? I can’t find it. I find it very interesting as I am aware of this incident but it didn’t happen where you claim the TSB said it happened. In fact, you still haven’t provi...

https://www.navcanada.ca/en/aiceng202224.pdf mandated ads-b timeline. The 2024 deadline for class B is interesting. Exactly! Having done my fair share of collective bargaining and resulting TA roadshows, I can describe the experience as follows: Back in the days of paper TA’s being handed out - no matter how comprehensive or detailed all of the amendments were to the CBA - the sound in the room would be “flip fl...

As long as the layovers are short and you can stay on your normal sleep schedule it's not bad. Longer layovers are what mess you up as your body starts to acclimatize.

Re: Is WestJet an essential service, where the government can mandate striking pilots back to work?
In addition to the JT/JS combo in power now, in 2015 the Supreme Court of Canada made a ruling that struck down the "essential services" card for all but a very small group of workers. https://canliiconnects.org/fr/r%C3%A9sum%C3%A9/35654 In the case of the recent PSAC strike, approx 35,000 employees...
