Re: Air Canada Pool
We'll see Tuesday I guess. But transfer or not, its would likely generate hiring, which is the focus of this thread.

Re: Air Canada Pool
Disagree. .. huge growth at ACr. I would imagine hiring will be steady. But the lack of retirements is really slowing things. Its still a bubble of guys who will likely retire in the net 5 years. Im sure the company is getting anxious, they dont really want to see 400 retirements in 1 year.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
You can't be specifically forced to the LCC. If you can no longer hold your position due to a reduction then you can bid to wherever your seniority will hold. I would expect normally that you could be a mainline RP or the LCC. LCC is the place to be as a new hire I think. Better schedule and same pa...

Re: Air Canada Interviews
New hires will be YZ. Guessing E190 FO and LCC 319 FO. It's certainly conceivable there could be new hires going to 767 FO in the LCC. Know more in the next 2 weeks.

Re: Question about ta1
Introduction of DC pension for new hires
4 year fixed pay rate (hourly) for new hires
Ability to create an LCC, use other tier 2 carrier than jazz
Pay grouping providing uplift for EMJ, B767 and A330
Some reserve rules improvements
That's the stuff a new hire may find headline worthy...

You can bid it... The highest position you may be able to hold as a new guy is A320 FO.

20 per month UFN. They would like to get 40/ month but the CA would need to settled so pilots can go elsewhere besides the EMJ or RPs.

Re: Would you want the WJ pilot's contract?
T4's are coming out and it seems a lot of my WJ friends are pleasantly surprised with what they earned. FO's average $100-120k (guy on other thread made $150k), Captains around $200k. I'm not an AC guy. I am curious though....how much OT is required to make these numbers happen? 5 days/month? 10 da...

Critique as you go. It feels a lot like a hard day in the sim. I believe that it's about 3.5hrs there isnt a limit but I'm sure it would be cut off somewhere. And for the entrance... Go under the big air Canada logo pick up the phone and dial the extension listed :D Then after you check in you get t...

They are showing at least 4 new hires training for VR A340 RP in the new year. That's a good start for the west coasters.

Reality check... Where you were educated makes a huge difference to persective employers in all industries... Do you think a doctor from Harvard being hired before the guy from Talahasse Party U at a good medical facility is an unfair practice? Employers get to pick the programs they find are the mo...

Re: RP vs Emb f/o
It depends on your set up in YYZ. RP less days worked and more sitting around YYZ waiting to go flying. EMJ more flying, less days sitting around. If you dont mind hanging around Toronto RP, if you just want to work and go home, probably EMJ. Good Luck.
