Funny you mention Capt Abend....picked up a copy of Flying magazine the other day and it contained an account of his last line flight. Used to get a chuckle of watching Delta operate their 1011s in LGA as well..taxxing around at 20 kts!!!

So the foreign guys are already type rated and do a short course for Sunwing's operation. I believe City Express brought over some pilots from Arkia [Israel] to fly the Dash 7 as there weren't any endorsed Canadian pilots on type. This would be 1984. One is now a TC inspector.
