What was the aircraft type? Passenger says it was a 40-50 foot drop to the ground. I didn’t know they fly A380’s on the YQB-YYZ run.

Where are you departing from in Alaska? I presume you are on wheels. Anyways set up an account with DHS and file an eAPIS and a flight plan for a customs stop. Also phone the customs station before your departure. I would clear customs at Whitehorse. Then follow the Alaska Hwy to Fort St. John BC CY...

Well I can’t even come close to the other posters but here are a couple of flights I did:

Cessna 180 on floats Ft. St.John to Flin Flon 6:00.
Cessna 180 on wheels Yuma AZ to Gillette WY 6:40. Then stuck in a blizzard for 3 days at the Gillette Super 8 waiting to go to YWG.

Old Prop

Hi,
I am trying to identify a prop. I think it is off a Fleet Finch 16B. I can’t attach the pic.
Prop has a diameter of 92”. Info on the hub says Kinner B5, date June 1941.

I think there is a Kenting DC 3 parked out on the tundra about 40-50 miles NE of YFB, I heard the story was that it crashed landed after running out of fuel on the way down from Clyde River(?) around 1974-75 (nobody got hurt). The last data I have on SAQ is that it was donated to CMFT in 1976. I saw it at Crescent Beach about 1985. As for EIR my files says it was written off in 1977 at Council Bluffs, BC . The remains may be with the Bush Pilots Museum in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

I believe there was a plan to retrofit the husky with Leonides engines. Barney Lamm was in partnership with Harrison Airways to do the work in Gimli but it faded and never really happened.
