Re: Flying in -FZRA
Good Post "fanspeed"! And good question "mudfarmer"! Now to the other members who just posted responses to fanspeed's very reasonable query as to whether or not a particular aircraft is certified to takeoff in freezing rain is concerned, why not sit back and think a little before you start blasting ...

Re: Trans Capital vs Voyageur Wages and Conditions info Want
I applied for, and was offered an interview based upon my application to join as a Captain on the Dash 7, with TCA giving me the rating on the Dash. Does anyone out there have any experience with TCA with regards to getting the rating with them and then being sent into the field? I'm curious as to w...

Buffalo Airways CL215 FO advertisement.
I see Buffalo have posted a job opening for a CL 215 FO position.
Has anyone got the specifications on this job? ie: Hows the salary? Is there the prospect of eventually upgrading on the 215 in the next season or so? Is there any chance of moving to other Buffalo equipment in the off-season?
Thanks.

Re: B737 Classic or Kingair, What is your Choice?
I've just finished reading through all the responses from all the contributors to your questions and I'm surprised nobody who has lived and flown throughout SE Asia would not by now have mentioned some of the more salient points of life in Indonesia. The Indonesian ladies are probably the most accom...

Trans Capital vs Voyageur Wages and Conditions info Wanted
I'm looking at a Dash 7 Captain position with TCA and would appreciate any info as to what wage package I can expect and the corresponding rotation schedule they work toward. In addition to that can anyone shed any light as to how TCA's package compares to Voyageurs. I've heard that one can negotiat...

Re: Advice you wish you had after your FIRST Captain upgrade
Try to keep in mind that you are the same person you were when you occupied the right seat. So no need to fall prey to the old adage that the Captain knows everything and is always right. Don't be afraid to ask your FO for his/her thoughts on anything at all. It makes them feel more a part of the cr...

Re: Pilot fatigue cited in Air Canada in-flight incident
Pilot Fatique?? What nonsense. Toronto-Zurich is hardly a long arduous flight. Air Canada gives the crews plenty of rest between duties. The pilot screwed up and the other pilot was not assertive enough to step in and correct the captain from his ridiculous manuever when he woke up or the captain wa...

Re: Air Tindi Information
I flew the Dash 7 for Air BC about a hundred years ago. I wonder if that would make a difference. I don't want to fly it again but if it helped get the job I suppose it would be OK.

Re: Info On Work Outside of Canada
I could shed some light on working overseas if you can be more specific as to what your basic parameters are. I've been doing it for over 30 years now and apart from about 3 years with Air NZ, I've been pretty much Africa-Middle East-Asia. Twin Otters to 747s. I've worked alongside helicopter ops. o...

Re: How to start a bush flying career
The above posts all carry as good advice as you could get so there's no need for me to say anything. However I had an idea while reading the other posts to you about starting out in the bush. I think this could be a good place for other pilots who fly in the bush or once did to write any story about...

Re: Air Tindi Information
Well sounds as if the King Air guys are on a good wicket. What about the Twin Otter and Dash pilots? Do they work on any sort of rotation as well? I guess it's obvious which AC I applied for!
And thanks very much for the info.

Riiight - 'cause it's explicitly clear from the report that this accident is the fault of local pilots.
When is an accident not the fault of the pilots?
