I am still confused over this $120 paying your doctor fee. All I pay is the $55 TC fee. Why do you guys pay your doctor?

Re: Porter - Two smoke related diversions.
WOW, why didnt they evacuate? The few "Injuries" from an evacuation is better then a flash fire tearing through the cabin. What would you rather have, a couple cuts or a broken arm, which heals in a matter of months with no after effect. Or possibly severe burns that will leave scars and or disfigur...

If you lose cabin pressure, FAAK ATC, commence you descent RIGHT NOW, then tell them you are descending. Screw the nicesities. Sort it out late. Aviate, comes before communicate. Seriously, go down NOW. If you disagree, it's been special knowing you. Illya. A huge +1 Propeller aircraft can descend ...

Pilatus PC-24
So, Happy Switzerland day!
Pilatus rolled out the first PC-24 today. Saw one of the youtube videos, yep it looks like a corporate jet.
Now to see if it can do what Pilatus is wishing it can do. Short unpaved runways. I am also curious about the PC-12 size cargo door in front of the left engine.

You would only need a POC if the heli was owned by the Angels, as i heard all three inmates were members. So it would be transporting company employees in their own heli.

Re: Air Canada baggage handlers behaving badly
From the time that I spent at YYZ on the ramp working, this is standard SOP's on the ramp. depending on the aircraft at the gate those stairs can be steep. Hauling those damn gate check bags are a pain. This is not the worse I've seen on the ramp. If your bag has a Fragile sticker on it, it will be ...

Re: Malaysia Airlines 777 - Missing
Has anyone checked the departure airport? Did the plane even depart? Is it sitting at the wrong departure gate? Or is it sitting in a maintenance hanger due to a snag?

Re: Malaysia Airlines 777 - Missing
I know nothing about the 777 systems. Saw on one TV report that they had a "777 Captain" talking about this incident. He stated that there are 10 power generators on board the 777 that would have to fail to loose all power to the plane. not sure how accurate this info is, but it was stated, and not ...

With all the history being told in this thread, which is some cool stories of early aviation in NW Ontario. I can see that Kelner bringing the 3 back to the north is pretty cool. With seeing the basler in pickle and what it can do, I could only imagine what you guys would do with these back in the d...

Heard from a source that Magna is picking up a New Citation X to be based out of Buttonville. Ah the things you can get away with when flying privately.

Talked to some of the Jumpers at this DZ. Final report is pilot error, he waited too long to try to power up to get over the trees to land. A situation where he got too low and too slow added power and pulled back to make it over the trees. Was stalled and dropping fast by the time the PT6 power inc...

Re: Skydiving Caravan max pax?
Fuel, I took enough for three loads, don't need to shutdown for 18 people to jump on, heck barely needed to stop. I put 600 pounds on (300 a side) that would allow three trips to 13,000 feet. On the last climb the fuel low lights would start to flash. As per the word passengers, are they really "pas...

In the 208B 18 jumpers go in like sardines. In the 208 14 fit just as comfortably. 21 is a typical twin otter jumper load. As per seat belts, they are attached to rings and the fitting that goes into the floor tracks. No seats, everyone sits on floor. They are only on for takeoff, thru 1,000 AGL all...
