Re: A better way to haul dead things.

This makes no sense. How will my dock hands become FO ready if we don't make them scrub tarps for an hour at the end of each day...

Re: What's your hearing worth?

I'm not 100% convinced with anr headsets. They are great and all but most pnr will do the job just fine. Protecting your hearing goes further than the cockpit. Driving around with your windows down wind blowing on your ear. Night at a concert or club rocking it out. All the little choices in life wi...

Porter to add seats.

I have heard (rumor) from a friend who works on the Island that Porter plans to add another row of seats for a total of 74. I think its a good move, the average passenger would not likely notice the difference. I once heard the original 70 seats was used due to runway length on the Island limiting w...

Re: Decisions....decisions

I was not meaning to be super offensive. I just thought you follow your nose so to speak in this industry... and to me I would just be screaming inside "Do what you want to do". Is it really that complicated what type of plane you are on? Even the CP at my job tries to sell pilots on multi time etc....

Re: A Steep Learning Curve

Maybe students should read "Outliers"... From wikipedia " Gladwell repeatedly mentions the "10,000-Hour Rule", claiming that the key to success in any field is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing a specific task for a total of around 10,000 hours." I agree some people have entitlement and fee...

Re: What next after CPL/ME/IR ?

Air France could kill two birds with one stone... Make their new pilot wonders wash the planes for a couple years before you give them the key's, then they would be just like a pilot in Canada, and their planes might actually look white. Now thats Experience!

Re: What next after CPL/ME/IR ?

If I had a type rating at first I would feel like I left everyone in the dust... but that would soon wear off and I would realize how bland my chosen career path became and would wish I had the chance to explore other aviation jobs. Unless all you EVER wanted to do was be an airline pilot go work a ...

Is it really amazing, or does the inception music make you feel like you are in a dream within a dream, flying for the USAF? :P

IATRA validity

Once completed the exam is valid to the last day of 24th month after the month of completion of the exam, right? Then what is required to keep the exam current if you are not applying for a new licence or rating? PPC on an aircraft under 12,500 lbs, or does it have to be over 12,500? Does it have to...

Re: Group 1 IFR Renewal

I would say YQT is not likely to have anything for you. Maybe you could get in the Sim at Confederation but not likely. Brampton has the redbird i think advertised at $700 for IFR renewals. YWG or the GTA will both have something for you.
