Re: Walmart Greeter Wanted

Pilots are responsible for the bond problem. Owners got fed up with pilots getting training on an airplane and then leaving for what they think would be a better job. Why should an owner pay for training and then have the pilot leave and have to train another one? Pardon? Of course that HAS happene...

Re: Why Employers Don't Post Wages

I agree. My "ignorant" answer is fairly straight forward. I guess people should stop working for shit wages. Walk off your job. Got a family to feed? Work two jobs not related to aviation. Rest assured one part time job at Tim Hortons probably pays better anyway. Any takers? Don't think so. The rela...

Re: Stay away from the edge:

Was just BBQ'ing dinner a few minutes ago. Leaning against the corner of the hangar, I saw an Air Cadet glider separate from the towplane far below circuit height. He did a beautiful turnback and landed downwind in the runway. Very pleasant to watch, as I cooked dinner. Should I go over to the Air ...

Life , as you said ... is about choices. I am not trying to be facetious, but could you enlighten me as to what choices you made in life (work/financial) , which allowed you to buy and operate a Smithsonian of fly toys? Going to school for engineering doesn't cut it. My bud is a chemical engineer wo...

Black Hole Effect:

Is the formal process where one goes to prison and becomes "personally" acquainted with a select few of the prison inmates.

Generally results in shock or death .

Disagree with original post, because shit happens. When said shit happens, I want to know what to do. Odd. Pretty sure I saw a Fedex MD-11 bounce down a runway a few years back and burst into flames @ Tokyo Narita. I hate pilots and that plane for this very reason.

Re: RCMP order plane flying anti-Harper message to land

Holding Ezra Levant and his Sunmedia up as purveyors of fact is laughable. Every one of his juvenile diatribes overflows with open hatred of what he considers "left wing", which to him is everybody who disagrees with him. Levant openly and proudly declares how much he despises unions. Factual repor...

Some dry humor: I wonder how many Arab customers this airplane will attract :)

If you want to go to an airshow ... head south of the border. Not only are airshows free, but most have static displays.

Nope. Just a few flybys ... though not today. The US has cut out the east + west F16 demo teams, the F15 demo teams, the A10 demo teams and only funds an F22. I guess it makes fiscal sense! I think this will be the final year of the CIAS.

Not to be naive here, but I do have an honest question to those who have lots of experience with aerobatics. I know in theory (somewhat) and by studying specific cases what happens when you spin an aircraft (say a 172 ) , fully loaded. Usually you turn into ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wgBxSX...

Ah yes, PDM training. And 126.7_STFU mentioned "sometimes shit happens...." which, of course it does. Look at Air France. Of course he also mentions "common sense". THIS is the big one. Common sense. He's right. Nobody can teach it. Not even those of us with "Apollo 11 credentials...." Oh, you can ...

Re: 4 fatal - crash nw of Waterloo ON Aug 24 2012

What's worse now is that these sort of incapabilities are starting to show up in Canadian license holders, since instructors are getting more and more lax with it, unfortunately as evidenced by the above. Why operated a normal category aircraft outside it's design flight envelope? Is a 172 approved...

I no longer have any faith in flight training or this industry. From this day forward, I am going to set my props based on the magic # I pull out of a paper bag. 1 = high , 2 = low. If for some reason one of the numbers is missing, I will jockey the prop until touch down to play the odds. Have a nic...

Re: Seneca College Crashes again, minor injuries.

As of this year, the military seems to have a raging hardon for Seneca grads. As discussed in another thread, there is an entry plan tailored specifically for them because it will help cut CF training costs! So, are they doing something right ... or have they invested too much coin into a propaganda...

Re: Why are Piper aircraft less popular for flight training?

I suppose it depends on what Piper product you are talking about? I think the Archer and Warrior are the only two which are used in conjunction with 172s on a somewhat "regular" basis. Seminole obviously for twin training.

Most of their products seem to be for cruising , not air work.
