Re: DOH merge.

BOTL I don’t think so my friends, I tink it should be more along the line of where I sit on my current seniority list now, no? Why should I go DOH when it’s only 8 yrs ago I was hired, when I sit at 48% seniority on my list? I won’t be 48% at AC if I go DOH. That not good for me. I should merge at ...

Re: DOH merge.

There is so much garbage and venom on this thread, I have no desire to read it. We are just pawns in a game played by others. I am not going to argue with other pawns who like me, have no control over what is happening, it's useless. I am just going to continue to do my job, with a positive attitude...

This article from a trade magazine, rather than a newspaper, nicely describes the issue. https://m.aviationweek.com/business-aviation/mcas-accident-factors-training-airmanship-experience-deficiencies?NL=AW-05&Issue=AW-05_20190528_AW-05_379&sfvc4enews=42&cl=article_2&utm_rid=CPEN1000009406719&utm_ca...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

I would add, if I recall my A330 days correctly, an inter relationship between the aircraft clock and the flap motors, or something like that. Quite true. Between the aircraft clock and the wingtip brakes, a device meant to prevent asymmetrical flaps or slats. If during preflight, while setting the...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

The big difference between Aeroperu and the MAX situation is that there was no UAS drill prior to Aeroperu but there is one for the MAX. A UAS drill was one of the lessons learned from Aeroperu. You brought up a very interesting point. It took 70 years of commercial flying before Boeing decided tha...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

When I was a 757 driver, I remember downloading and studying an accident report from an Aeroperu 757. I went through the FCOM to understand everything that happened..... https://www.skybrary.aero/bookshelf/books/1719.pdf (This is an unofficial translation of the official accident report in Spanish) ...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

What age are Transat's 330s? All over the map. Some less than 5 years old, some really old ones. Not to mention the Azores bird is still in the fleet. The oldest A330 is 23 years old. But I dont think any TS A330 has ever reached 100K hours yet, so they all have many years left in them. We still ha...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

Confusedalot, How would an MCAS failure look differently in a simulator compared to a stab trim runaway? What are the differences in the emergency drill? Answer: there is no difference. That is false. 1) The Standard Runaway trim fault does not have a stall warning and stick shaker associated with ...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

Question. I just took a look at Rouge’s 767 fleet. A couple are 16 and 19 years old, the rest are between 23 and 29 years old. So the babies in the fleet likely have upwards of 80,000 hours, the others 120,000 hours plus. They cannot be sustained for more than a few more years. Air Transat’s 310s ar...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

The A320 series aircraft can tune in the ILS or Localiser plus two NAVs at the same time. The primary was tuned to the LOC frequency (109.9), and the two NAVs were tuned to the Halifax VOR(115.1), and on 109.1 which was the DME frequency indicated on the altitude/distance box of the LOC approach. Wh...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

I received the DFDR Download and Analysis report for the Air Canada accident in Halifax. It does not answer most of the questions I had, but it does answer some. The DFDR report does mention that the accident aircraft had no GPS, which the Final TSB report does not. The pilots had manually tuned the...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

You could hope and speculate negatively, or you could read the ATIP rules. I have probably 30 ATIP requests under my belt so I know the ropes quite well. Several went to the Commissioner for complaint. You would be surprised how much these government people hide, often for obscure reasons. The weir...

Ok, that’s fair enough. Their(TSB Engineer Lab) response suggests to me they stand by the final analysis which is their prerogative. They are not a law firm or a lobby group. They are the TSB. http://www.bst-tsb.gc.ca/eng/qui-about/mission-mandate.asp The Canadian Transportation Accident Investigat...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday

Tell me something sir, have you corresponded with TSB to let them know in your infinite wisdom that you think as an airline pilot their final report in the AC crash in YHZ wasn’t up to the standard one would expect from such an Agency(your words), explaining of course the standards not met. You sta...

Well chaps, if yer accident investigation knowledge is that good/shit hot(I am not in a position to say one way or another), redress is quite simple isn't it.Apply on competitions at TSB and let them know how good ya are and how valuable your expertise is.
