Taxation on aircraft purchases within Canada
If someone buys an aircraft from a GST/HST registrant corporation (in this case Quebec), what tax(es) are mandatory to be charged by the seller if the owner is from another province (Nova Scotia)? Does it make a difference (for seller or buyer) if the transaction is made in the buyer's province?

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
Received update from TC today 21.04.201: Up to 1 year delay!!!! Bertrand, Nina 9:42 AM (1 hour ago) to me Hello Vincent, I have looked into your file again and, unfortunately, it is still in process. The agencies are experiencing backlog which could explain this delay. I have seen some clearance wai...

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
Going on 7 months here for CYOW, still on yellow escort pass. Ridiculous. (I have had a Provincial PI Licence for years, a Restricted Firearms Licence and a Secret Federal Govt Security Certificate valid to 2021. I also held RAIC passes uninterrupted from 1987-2004.) -- Email from TC back on April 3...

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
6 months? Really? Longest wait I've had is two weeks. YYCs pass office won't even let you apply for renewal greater than 90 days in advance. Calgary actually puts an artificial expiry date on your raic (6 months prior to actual hard expiry). So when you go in you get a Red tag back as opposed to a ...

Re: COPA leadership question
The general wisdom -- enunciated by association presidents of my acquaintance -- is that those who hold that position should do so for an average of 5 to 7 years, and no longer than 10 years. I cannot, however, point to any substantive research that confirms those opinions. Time to smell the coffee...

Re: COPA leadership question
Eighteen consecutive years at the helm for the top job? Thank you. From the COPA website: Kevin Psutka replaced long-time COPA manager Bill Peppler who retired in 1996. Psutka came to COPA from the Canadian Air Line Pilots Association bringing experience in general aviation, the air force, Transport...

Re: 2012 Fire Season
Well, the MB boys kicked off our season today with 9 drops out of 258, and a few more from 252 and 253. I thought two years ago was an early start on April 16, but we're almost two weeks ahead this year.. Stay safe, all! :) There have been two Quebec CL-415's in Maniwaki (CYMW) past 5 days fighting...
