Re: What the...?
Maybe it should be more like "Don't have to be crazy, but sure as hell helps"?

Re: Is College/University Worth it?
You are in a very similar position I was in 12 years ago. Everyone told me to go to school. I did all my training in high school and nearly had my CPL in hand when I graduated. Worked a fishing lodge and dock in Manitoba the week after I finished high school, which led me to a real flying job the ne...

Re: Traffic on the Land Side of Airports Regulations
Thanks for some input, i really don't see it having any complications but we all know how little legal details are tedious! The violation is 8 (1) a: "8 (1) Subject to subsection (2), the operator of a vehicle shall obey (a) any instructions displayed on a sign that are applicable to the vehicle" Ju...

Traffic on the Land Side of Airports Regulations
Considering a lot of us here spend too much time at airports, and i wont be taking this as legal advice, i wonder if anyone else has had this scenario before. My wife dropped me off at YUL to head out for another rotation and we said our see ya laters. Then she totally blew through a stop sign, righ...

http://www.nnsl.com/frames/newspapers/2013-04/apr5_13eye.html Seems like the world is certainly changing these days... Strangely, it does meet the criteria for an accident! Re: SCUBA and seaplanes
I picked up MANY divers on the west coast from fish farms. We would fly at 500 feet home, taking the "long route" down the inlets. Its no worse then them doing something silly like DRIVING the malahat home if they were down victoria way!

Re: "Taxi only" flight
I had a friend that was going out on a multi flight test many moons ago... they did the run-up and they called it off for mechanical reasons. The DFTE told him to log it as they were intending to fly. And as we all know, its harder to say no in this racquet we call aviation. So learning experience? ...

Interesting comments RVR12, are you saying that you skud run in weather that is so critical visibility wise that the difference between how fast a Cessna will respond to the controls compared to a Beaver means the difference between flying and crashing? That is how a real bush pilot defines " commo...

Not to be a pessimist, but IMHO; I have to agree a beaver is easier to FLY than a cessna, but there is alot you have to know when flying it. Cessnas are VERY forgiving, but you rub a beaver the wrong way, and nice knowing you. Most of the common "traps" are well known about the -2 but to be honest, ...

Need some advice on my references; I used to put their position when I worked for them or with them. Ie: "Bob Jones, Chief Pilot, Scare-me airways, (123) 456-7890"... I never wanted to just put "Joe Blow(123) 456-7890" but most of my references have moved on... What would be the perfered way to form...

Most runways up here are 3500' x 100' gravel, and a bit slick now. They have aprons that are usualy around one end of the runway, with a little terminal that tends to be locked when your pax aren't there. The MTO's sometimes offer "overnight accomidations" or a daytime fee, but require PNR. PV8's AR...

I have been flying around them for the past week, and with a wind shift last night it REALLY cleared the air up in my neck of the woods... it's been a hard time flying to some of the most local places and i'm glad that i know the area VERY well, the smoke even 40 miles north of the big fires was pus...

What is the most correct (if any) answer to call a plane than lands and takes off on water...... if not, what do you call it? I only ask because some people use Seaplane, others Float plane, others use other words I guess... I believe the CARS use the two interchangeably... (Seaplane endorsement, Fl...

They should see what there is at Flight Safety, but from what i heard, its amazing there! I have never gone, but from what i hear there are really good graphics and like on approach to YYZ the cars are there on one of the roads and they aren't even spaced evenly... you feel like your actualy flying....
