Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

We have pfod candidates after 4-6 months. I don't agree with this practice but it's been done. As recently as last week infact but that was partly due to other circumstances surrounding the candidate.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Anyone know when the next round of calls could be going out? If they called for the Feb 17th class already before Christmas should we expect some silence for a while while they catch up? T Majority of the calls that went out over the holidays was for jazz. Candidates were sent an email asking for a...

Not completely accurate.

They are not "making" that, they are guaranteed that (75 hour/mo) flying pay in the first year.

I thought they were currently getting 70 hours a month?

77.5 guarantee at rouge
75 guarantee at ML

Re: The sad state of regional pilots in Canada

What is Air Canada's 4 year flat pay again - $55k-ish? Flat pay does not mean 4 years of 55k each year. as of April 2019 1st year 55k 2nd year 60k 3rd year 67k 4th year 75k Flat pay just means you won't get formula pay (night flying premium, over seas premium etc etc) Not justifying what the pay is...

Those vacancies are actually all due to posted retirements to the end of 2020, fleet expansion and duty reg. implementation, what else would they be?
Minus fleet expansion but yes correct. Majority being the duty regs

Current bid still shows 836 vacancies. 86 more positions required since the last bid. ~170 WB FO positions unfilled. 500+ NB FO positions. Hello. I interviewed 5 months ago and did receive the email sent out in Oct. Has anyone followed up since that email? The holidays are coming up, we're slowing ...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

So can we assume the wait time for those who interviewed in July/August has to do with the return of the MAX? Some who interviewed around that time are being hired. It all depends on how you score. So then why not PFO people if they don’t want them? The higher you score during the whole interview p...

Currently at AC (which isn't end all be all of aviation in canada btw) the "seniority hit" that you would take is negligible. My friends son started around a year ago and has about 500 numbers below him as of two days ago. He is a mainline 320 FO, gets weekends off and basically anything he bids for...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I highly doubt Transat will have any effect on hiring for some time. If I had to take an educated guess from the comfort of my Chesterfield I would suggest AC's training capacity is the limiting factor. The biggest bid in decades closed last month which saw a ton of people move around. So courses a...
