So now that 2018 is almost over, how many new hires did AC bring in throughout the year?

How many are they realistically going to be able to hire and train in 2019?
Around 400+ hired in 2018. Expect much of the same for 2019.

Pretty dated info. But generally can give you a ball park idea.

Some rates are off as much as 8 to 10 bucks and hour. But some are close enough (2 bucks)

Could AC be behind an Express merger as a way to mitigate manpower shortages in the industry ?

Re: GGN ALPA and CUPE NEGOTIATION HELL

We all know Ggn management is evil. Adapt or die. They are accountable to shareholders and if they don't give to the employee group.... They will be replaced. That will be a day I happily cheers to. Go forth Ggn pilots, you have all of Alpa behind you. The 61000 members have been where you are at o...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Why would there be? AC doesn't owe them anything. It's not like all the YYZ jazz RJ pilots were magically offered jobs at main line when the YYZ base closed. As mentioned above I think AC made commitments to some of the 1900 crews who are cadets. As far as my knowledge of the situation goes, every ...

Re: GGN YYZ 1900 to Cease Operation

Thank you for posting. After serving the Toronto market for 22 consecutive years and over a million flight hours our Beechcraft will be retiring from this market. Our focus in Toronto turns to growing our jet operation starting with the addition of one additional CRJ tentatively scheduled to enter ...

Re: Westjet Encore and Westjet FA Job Question

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at WJ/Encore I was told that as an FA you don't get paid unless the engines are turning? The article is a bit dated (6 months or so old), as this is a dynamic industry things may have changed. I'm sure you will do your research and due diligence and make an informed deci...

Hypothetical: If sky and ggn or sky and jazz were to merge, whos contract would the pilots fly under ? AC wants diversity in its Express feed. It’s wants multiple companies fighting for the work. If Jazz and Sky were to merge then AC would just find another company to do some Express flying. Likely...

Does anyone know the inside workings of the hiring process? Is it true there’s a panel of people that get together and make the final decision on your application after you’ve interviewed? How often does this panel meet? Once a month? If this was known one could determine when offers go out...? Doe...

Re: Do the majors even consider a loser with a pardoned DUI?

I believe this is like having an accident or incident. We all make mistakes. Important thing is be honest about it and try to learn from it. If you say he's genuinely that good of a guy then I'm sure any major would be happy to have him.

Good luck!
