What’s the difference between the required pilots being 3327 and the surplus starting at 3704?

Managers, special leaves, medicals...etc, retirements too if I'm not mistaken

600 surplus pilots.
Lots of reductions to seats but many were unfilled.
I don’t see anything published.
Something will be published later today.

Those numbers is what I heard as well. Over 600 surplus. Close to 1600 reductions from the last bid

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

600 are a certainty in May/June. 900? Maybe more like 900 more in October. I think surplus will show deeper in fact, although depending on the recovery, training may not catch up to see all go off property. I think we could see sub 3000 by the end of the year depending on how ACPA plays it. A frien...

Is the reduction bid still planned for the 13th?
Yes
Curious, how do you actually know its a reduction bid?

I believe it's part of the process.

For the up to 600 layoffs to occur a reduction bid needs to be put out and reflect as such.

Buckle up. Hearing it could be a long bumpy ride for those furloughed at AC. Upcoming bid will reflect this, and even more pain. Sorry, I wish I had better news. You seem to always have accurate info. Any other specifics? Can't go into too much detail till after the bid comes out. But some of the 1...

Re: Layoffs

Also worth mentioning, I was told the 162 are laid off regardless of how many of the 500 eligible ERIP pilots take the deal.

What a change. Going from 900+ vac to a potential of 600 layoffs.

Re: Layoffs

Can't get into too much details.. Bottom 162 is the final number (or close to it) Staggered layoff dates of may 1st and June 1st 162 out of 4600? Not meaning to sound insensitive but in these challenging and unpredictable times every action should be taken for a purpose. A massive portion of the AC...

Re: Layoffs

What about the 400 or so 737 pilots ?

They would be allowed to bid off I'm sure or would the company still pay them for sitting at home and laying off 500 pilots?

If they bid off they will trigger training costs for sure.

Rumblings of the deal being revisited or renegotiated.

This post is not meant to sow any discourse. Just passing on what I heard. I know the competition bureau is supposed to rule soon on it.

May just be a defferal on when it will close.

Could say the same for the Air Canada stock? Dropped below 20. Would it be around that right now without the potential Transat deal? Or would it not be less?

Sincere question....I'm no financial guru

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

From my previous post.... I did make sure to specify that news to be all before the week we had just had. I know of atleast 2 ppl with interviews this week. I will reach out to them and ask if it's still on. As for gs being delayed....that all depends on what comes of the govt announcement tomorrow...
