Re: Stressed About the TC Exams and Flight Test
I am a 47 year old father of two teenagers. I have been out of real school since the mid 80's and if I can dedicate the time to complete it you should be fine. That is awesome. Congratulations and well done! Thanks. It has been a dream of mine for quite awhile. Took the kids up over the Christmas b...

Receive only FSS/FISE, callback on VOR. Why?
Just curious. What's the reasoning behind this sort of communication method? Seems a bit more complicated with the hardware with this kind of setup on their end.

Re: Instructors - Demand?
Hi all I have read a number of the threads and many speak about the pro's and cons of instruction. My question is, is there a demand for instructors in Canada? Asking in terms of a career instructor, not as a stepping stone for hour building. Regards Why not? There are few career instructors out th...

Marijuana specifically. Should have been more specific.North Shore wrote:Alcohol? Nicotene? Caffeine? Viagra? High-adrenaline sports?JungianJugular wrote: Anyone who uses a recreational drug outside of the cockpit should not be allowed inside the cockpit.

Re: What is Transport Canada going to do about the upcoming legalization of marijuana?
Blanket ban on use? Time from use to flying rule similar to alcohol? How about enforcement? Is TC going to get into the business of drug testing pilot? What do you think will happen? I wonder if they even started working on a plan. Maybe they will even completely ignore it and let operator enforce ...

CPL Dual XC
I've got 2.9 night dual XC hours.
I have another 2.1 XC hours left to fullfill the CPL dual XC requirement.
The CARS says 2 of those 5 hours can be done at night. Does the extra .9 count as well towards the total requirement, or is that a maximum of 2 hours that can be counted?

Re: Stressed About the TC Exams and Flight Test
I just wrapped up my CPL flight test. Like you I was a little stressed out. It was a big deal for me. But everything turned out fine. Preparation is the key. You can't expect to know everything and do everything perfectly. Use the wealth of resources available, which you already are using. I'm sure,...

Great for IFR stuff and simulated emergencies/procedures. You won't lose anything by using it to supplement your training as an experiential learning tool.

Re: Uber's Vision for a VTOL Flying Car Ride Share Program
Nice link, geodoc! I believe it's inevitable with more parties investing in research and development. More automation with automobiles will eventually be a reality. We will see it in the ground transportation systems as well. It will be interesting too see how this all turns out in this lifetime.

Re: Want to become a commercial pilot, need to figure out my education SOS
Get your ratings at a solid flight school. Build time. Do an online degree once you're working in aviation. Live your dream. While it's exemplary to see people doing a full University degree in addition to flight training, IMO you'd be better off focusing on one thing and working while you're doing ...

prash90, I know an Indian national who was in the same situation as you. He's now flying right seat on the Metroliner in Northern Ontario. PM me and I'll try to connect you two. He is an extremely nice guy who I don't think will have an issue offering you any guidance/advice.
