Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

RidersRule, not to put you on the spot, but since you are so keen on this conversation contrary to my usual practice I share with you that generally speaking angry is one who constantly uses a profane and vulgar language, because one cannot "win" with reasonable debate. That's the other thing, one ...

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

Cloak, you keep comparing Encore to Swoop. There are some major differences on how these two companies were formed. Encore was voted in by the employees, and swoop was formed by the company. You also compare the job that I took at Encore to an OTS hire at swoop. I’m just not buying your bullshit.

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

So you are saying it’s ironic for Encore pilots to have an opinion on a thread like this? Are you implying that Encore pilots lowered the bar? Last I checked we had nothing to do with our current pay standards. There are many of us here fighting to get better WAWCON. I believe the majority of Encor...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

How long to hear back from in person interview? Interviewed end of August and haven’t heard anything. Do they PFO sooner rather than later? Thanks in advance. I waited 6 1/2 weeks for a PFO. Those who interviewed around the same time as me got the “application on hold” email. They have since been g...

How about the coolaid you drink? Can I get it from superstore or is it only available at the ivory tower?

Re: Westjet mainline commuting

Hi all, with the new ad for FOs, I was wondering what the current westjet mainline commuting policy is, and if it is doable for a junior FO out of CYWG? How many days could you realistically expect to be home? What is the mainline FO pay like? Most information I find is either about Encore or reall...

Hi All, I've got 5000 TT with 1000 on the DHC-8-100. I've also got my ATPL and an instructional background. I'm wondering how long to upgrade to Capt at YYZ these days. Also, how long to get to training Captain, and what is the pay like? With that time, you would upgrade as soon as the next bid cam...

Re: How's morale with uncertainty of the one list?

Although I'm no longer actively flying at Encore, I can say that morale at Encore is challenging, but not for the reasons that are referred to in the initial post or subject matter. There isn't any real uncertainty with the one list. Encore pilots have a WestJet Pilot Department List number and WJ'...

Re: How's morale with uncertainty of the one list?

I wouldn’t say there is uncertainty in regard to the one list. It is very high priority on both sides of the fence (WJ and Encore.) As far as morale goes, I would say it’s low for everyone under the WestJet umbrella. Nobody wants to see WJ pilots go to a strike, but management may leave them no othe...

Or polled Justin Trudeau’s cabinet to see how much support there is for back to work legislation and an imposed contract? Westjetters love to tell you about their T4. And while I agree, money is money, I am interested in the actual salary.
Of course we do! We are T4 rich and cash poor, the T4 makes us look better. Especially on forums, so be quiet before everyone finds out.

I was hired as an FO last year, and I met the matrix when I was hired. I got the email that I was upgrading before I did my initial ride. After it was all said and done, it was about 5 months from initial hire as a FO till I was cut loose as a Captain.

Re: Cessna 408 - FedEx orders 100

They need to make a 408 Pressurized version. I feel like there will be a need for a commuter plane on the market in the next few years. All these metro’s and 1900’s aren’t going to last forever, and there is nothing to replace them right now.
