Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement

No, the bump down language in the PTA can cause layoffs at Encore.

Re: One List

I think it’s funny that people think that the PTA is bad for the airline industry. Isn’t this just building unity? Management groups are scared shitless of a unified pilot group. I think I’m the long run, this will raise the bar for Canadian aviation. I think we have a better shot of getting more fa...

Re: ONEX plans

And as far as cancelling flights and stranding passengers, every airline has had its share at one point or another, especially Air Canada, including very recently. This just to add perspective. Now, speculation is easy and here's another! It is rather clear that WestJet group as a whole is worth mo...

Re: Westjet or Sunwing

If you are looking for a faster upgrade time, sunwing is probably a better place to go. As far as a career airline, personally I would be apprehensive to go to sunwing. Sunwing is a hotel/resort company that happens to operate airplanes. To the best of my knowledge, they don’t operate airplanes as e...

Re: SWOOP - A New Hires Future

A couple nights ago I heard a pilot correct himself after saying empress instead of swoop a couple times and then after landing I saw a Canadian North airplane at a gate. Is Canadian north doing uplift for swoop? Swoop had to charter Canadian North because nobody would pick up OT in irrops. Can’t s...

Re: Encore contract negotiations

If the company decides to axe the one list, it will cause major problems for them. I know many Encore pilots that will have an “anywhere but here” approach if the one list disappears. People will be leaving for 703/704 jobs vs staying with Encore. As mentioned above, Encore will be the last option f...

Re: Tim Perry elected as head of ALPA Canada Board

If it makes you feel better, I'm at Sky and still haven't been officially told we're ALPA yet. I found out on here lol If you are subscribed to the ALPA emails, there has been lots of communication on the changes to the national officers and the Canada Board. Most people skim over these emails anyw...

Re: New Arbitrated Contract

I don't really see anything concretely indicating the status of the "one list". The 7 page release has one mere line indicating: >"One-List" LOU to preserve status quo re: Encore flow/seniority recognition is in progress Just prior to that it mentions that all Encore pilots that have already flowed...

Re: (32 votes cast): WPSL Poll

I'm posting the following on every thread in which John Swallow has raised the issue of seniority at ALPA, because it's pretty devastating to his "case": I don't know why I didn't think to actually do it earlier, but I finally decided to stop taking Mr Swallow at his word that the references he was...

There are 19 votes, which includes my 1 vote. I'm not trying to game the system. I am sincerely curious how people think things will turn out. Nothing here will influence the result of the arbitration, nor will it change the facts of the situation. The rules remain the rules, and the MEC's of both ...

Encore is in the process of bringing a PICUS program in now. It should be in place in the next few months. If I were you, I would just write the Aa’s, because you will need them anyways.
