Re: Reimbursement of costs for a PPL holder
It's really not difficult to interpret.[/quote] That's the funny thing about interpretations... they are open to interpretation. There is a very large part of our society that generates an extremely large amount of revenue by interpreting things, can you guess what that may be? Why the legal system ...

My understanding is also that if you are going to a mutual destination fuel costs may be covered by the passenger for their portion.
Is this correct?

Very well presented. You have presented Facts, no mater your opinion, the facts are the Facts.
You're right regarding the giving up of our rights and freedoms, look how it screwed us with the whole gender equality...... lol (not enough responses on this post, this line should do it lol)

Re: Seaplane prop 185
The Utva 66 with its 9' prop was the loudest single engine airplane I've ever heard, it was significantly louder than a 185 with the 88" seaplane prop. It was one hell of a float plane too but some goof back east put little floats on it and sunk it, TC said no more and we ended up selling. We had th...

Re: Photo Flight Edmonton area
Thank you very much for the comments and valuable advice. It is true, you can never be to careful with all the TC employees lurking on this site ready to pounce on private pilots that are not capable of flying their aircraft safely should they receive remuneration of any type. This of course would b...

How does this course differ from the others, and the ones with very good reputations such as Air-Heart in Kelowna BC?
Just curious as to what you offer that puts you above the "cookie cutters" as you say...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
Interesting to see who is lurking in the depths of AVCANADA, bit of a reminder that TC is probably monitoring these forums constantly and knows who you are, no more posts of external loads, boys and girls! The last one asking people to post was probably TC! A touch paranoid perhaps? I highly doubt ...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
I know a ton of guys who have tattoos, full sleeves, half sleeves, full back, fore arms etc, all whom work for major airlines......AC, WJ, Cathay, Qatar, Jet Airways, etc.I can come up with almost 10 people off the top of my head right now. This being said, I know that Emirates turned down a guy I ...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
I'll open my statement with the same one I opened with last time, These opinions sound like someone who has given up and is completely disillusioned with their profession. This is not meant to be insulting at all, in fact the opposite, and perhaps I wasn't clear in my prior post as re reading it it ...

Re: Taxiing a plane to the pub ...
Typical out of control cops abusing their power. Saying that they want to press criminal charges is laughable yet scary at the same time because these cops actually believe their propaganda. Was it stupid to do? Yes absolutely, you know cops will overreact nowadays, but i guess its his right to push...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
Hey PilotDAR , I think getting persnickety about "professional appearance" in this day and age is like shutting the barn door after the horse done runnoft. The passengers might still care about it, but pilots themselves sure as hell don't. If you give the average pilot the choice of what to wear to...

I have the outline of the Avro Arrow on my right forearm, more often it's sparked conversation instead of discrimination. I have the Canadian flag on my right bicep, I wouldn't want to work for someone who looked down at that. My others are on my back where no employer or client would ever see so i...

I have to agree with B-Rad, Sorry Cat I usually agree with you, although i do agree on the risk part somewhat. Two totally different situations landing and skimming unless you are skimming to land like is sometimes done. would I do it? nope, I don't like wheels at all myself, I like my straight floa...

Re: How safe is this?
I am actually blown away that so few have seen this maneuver before. This is nothing new, and as one of the posts says just look it up on youtube. Cub drivers is a great place to start. This maneuver is sometimes used in the bush when landing on gravel bars, beaches etc, it can extend your runway. I...
