Well that's interesting.
Apparently MO is in on this as well. So three major northern players all codesharing.

Maybe they'll extend that runway and let jets in! How awesome would that be to see the new Bombardier C-Series operating out of Billy Bishop!

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
There is a precision IAP RW 05 at Halifax RNAV(GNSS) Category Minima LPV, ditto for RWs 23, 14 and 32. Been there over past couple of years. LPV counts as Precision Approach now? That's news to me. Especially since RWY 05 is a Non-Precision Approach Runway according to the Jepps and the AIM. 7.5.2 ...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
I know every time I board an Air Canada flight, the pilots are all wearing Sorels and Snow Goose parkas in their seats. The flight attendants never wear pantyhose, that will just melt into their skin and scar them for life. To say nothing of the CFM pumps half them show up in. Illya Well Illya, TC ...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
So I heard that runway 32 was not being maintained at the time of the incident/accident, only rwy 05 was open. The other runway was covered in snow drifts. Runway 05 apparently had a JBI of .35 when AC landed. With winds at 340 gusting to 25, that would be 20 knots of crosswind on 05. Can any pilot ...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
AC's twitter eludes to it being an overrun. AC Twitter: Confirms AC624, YYZ-YHZ exited runway upon landing at Halifax. All passengers have deplaned, going to terminal. More updates to come. Exited the runway doesn't mean overrun. Good to know that all passengers got off the aircraft. Here is the en...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
Hope everyone is indeed ok. Did the power failure happen before the crash, or did the a/c damage something? The wording of the early reports is unclear on that. If it happened before the crash...how is that possible? I was under the impression that runway lighting and approach navaids were backed u...

Re: Future Airline Pilots
First we do not have the same market at all. We need medevacs and we need northern transport. If the only way to make these businesses viable is slave labour, maybe the prices should be changed for this service? So let's say you are good at writing, good at thinking but you hate math you cannot be ...

Re: First Air cancelling flights, fuel shortage or $$$ short
could this be a pre-merger move? Cancel the under performing flights, put the pax on 5T, and it's win-win for the "new northern airline." Other then the announcement, there has been no further move by the companies involved. To my knowledge nothing has come back from the government about approving ...

Re: Future Airline Pilots
after a few years you get to choose what you really want to do and what/where you want to fly. Be a slave for a few years to earn your freedom! Seriously, our industry is messed up when people think this is acceptable. Europe is using mostly cadets programs that cost nothing to pilots, but entitles...

Re: Wind cancels YEG flights
They should get working on that parallel 12/30 runway! Here's to YEG trying to be like YYC! Uncoordinated, inability to move aircraft, and 2+ hour flow times? YEG is great when both it's runways are open, and even with one runway ops they still move traffic better then Calgary does. I wish NavCan w...

Re: Pilots' Union Shines a Light on Low Wages
Everyone in an airline these days is underpayed, except management, who are overpayed. Pilots have it better then almost everyone else in these companies though.
