It's a global business environment these days. Language that ensures a 1:1 ratio of exchange pilots is the way to go as it ensures full time employement with healthy companies.

The airlines swg work with in Europe both have highly seasonal business that happen to be opposite to the Canadian busy season. Hopefully once we can get better recognition for our licenses swg will be able to send more over.

Landing in frobay in winter is an emergency now? Okay I get it YFB is not a preferred destination hence AC pulled Jazz off that run but coming into a 9000 *200 ft paved strip with 24 hr ATC, MTC, ILS approach, defiantly not an emergency situation. They can accommodate that aircraft.

For the most part their contracts are what they negotiate with their parent company, so out of SWG hands.

Hard to say it suppresses wages, not sure where your getting that from. The Thompson/TUI pilots are well paid, Travel Service guys receive additional compensation as gonnabeapilot pointed out. If you want to look at wage suppression best look to the regionals.

I agree the FO should have taken control and done the go around on the second none corrective action by the Captain. But that approach really makes the Captains competency look awful.
