Airline license required for airline flights, both seats.
This would definitely turn things around....although the Made in Canada solution would likely be TFWs

Re: Will we ever stop shooting ourselves in the foot?

And yet I still hear Jazz pilots claim to be the highest paid regional pilots in North America  Pay will never increase as long as our flag carrier pays poverty wages with the flat pay garbage. We have the lowest paid 777 FOs on Earth and I am sure that two of the next three posts will likely ...

This would never happen in Canuckistan. Pilots will never stick together, and even if they did, the government would step in.

Re: Interim bid out

If Air Canada wants to fix its crewing problem (and help the profession in the process), all it is has to do is to cancel the 4 year probationary pay. How can one be on probation for 4 long years?! Not even at NASA!! You are confusing your facts. It is a 4 years flat pay system which matches WJ pay...

Re: Interim bid out

I'd imagine it's also a bit embarrassing being among the worst paid WB FOs in the world. I'd imagine it is THE lowest paying WB FO job in the world. There's no where else paying the equivalent of $40k USD on wide-body aircraft including third world countries. Not all about pay though, you have to t...

The STAR is a clearance. ATC can override the 200kt order with a clearance. Simple enough.
The above opinion is that of the poster. If you don’t agree feel free to consult TC and get back to us.

Re: Pilot Shortage / Minimums /disconnect

If <insert regional airline> had a cadet program where, after 250hrs you have a Q400 type rating, I bet the quality of candidates would be better. Progress could be as follows: 172, for PPL and IFR trainer. Total 100hrs 172 for CPL training. Total 50 hours Seminole for multi and M-IFR, 50hrs total ...

Re: Sault Aviatoin, is it as bad as many have posted..

Very sad what has become of this school. It used to be a top notch training program. But it was also run by hardass ex-military guys. Less than 1/3 of the initial class graduated and the students were not free to follow their own self directed schedules. If you weren’t a ppl by the end of the first ...

Re: Speed limits and STARs

The charts do not tell you to do 220kts, they say MAX 220 knots. This does not tell you to fly 220, just that a max 220 in order to make the next turn. I would caution you to consider this an automatic approval to break the 200 kt rule unless ATC specifically told you to go to the 220 maximum. Just...

There is no shortage at the 705 level (yet).
Yes there is, do you know how many flights were cancelled last months from lack of crews? A lot. It’s just the beginning but it’s definitely starting to be very evident.

Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be careers. Somehow people think that absolutely everyone deserves a house. You want a house? Get an education and a higher paying job.

Obviously most people don't understand the devices they are using. All this bitching and complaining and all you need to do is turn off the emergency audio notification. There is more to a smart phone than just the on and off switch. Jeeezus!!

Should his phone have been on during the takeoff roll? Distraction is a detriment to aviation safety, not alerts.

Re: Are Amber Alerts affecting your flight safety?

I have a friend who was on the takeoff roll when the amber alert alarm started going off. As he was new to the plane he was confused as to what the hell alarm was going off and almost elected to reject. I would say in that case it could have been quite detrimental to aviation safety.

Highest paid regional pilots in North America? Only if you don’t include the USA in your definition of North America
