AvChina

Interesting list of jobs on the board this morning. Looks like we got spammed by China.
Maybe we should change the name to AvChina

Re: Another ATAC effort.... aka sidestep.

Good article. We are nowhere near that desperate in Canada without the 1500hr rule. Rather than raise wages and offer bonuses, our airlines simply higher pilots with lower experience...and there will never be a shortage of 250hr pilots. I don’t think you will see a significant change in Wawcon due t...

Re: Canadian living in the U.S. getting the boot...

I wish people would stop defending the shit pay in Canuckistan. It will never change as long as we keep saying it’s not too bad. It is the largest “pilot shortage” in 40years and somehow AC and it’s feeders are paying less than ever.

Re: Canadian living in the U.S. getting the boot...

You don’t think the pay is that different? What does Jazz pay? $27,000usd? A friends son got hired at a commuter down there as soon as he got his 1500hrs. $80,000usd to start and guaranteed captain salary after a year regardless of whether or not he makes captain. Don’t kid yourselves. Sorry about y...

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?

Back in the 90s, if you were lucky enough to have Irene Henry change your diapers when you were a kid, you had it made. You could have also sent her flowers. I heard that one worked too.

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

What was the outcome with salary and working conditions? Did the Westjet pilots who went to Swoop keep their salary or take a pay cut?

Re: Where is this so called shortage

Air Canada’s starting pay is a disgrace. Please don’t try to justify it. If you work there, you should be trying (in conjunction with your union) to fix it.

Re: Where is this so called shortage

Canadian aviation will never catch up with the rest of the world until our flag carrier stops paying poverty wages. $54,000 for a new 777 FO. I would wager Air Nigeria pays more!

Re: Where is this so called shortage

The ugly truth is that there is no shortage of entry level pilots in Canada, and if you don’t make some sacrifices for that elusive first job your peers will pass you by.

Re: GGN accused of unfair Labour Practices

Good Idea, but then Jazz is stuck with a bunch of less than desirable candidates.... I would tail end them onto thee seniority list, but because they are alpa date of hire will rule..... Could be a good thing for Jazz though and good growth opportunity. Additionally, maybe more Jazz guys could upgr...

Had PilotCareerCenter do mine a couple months ago. Cost $140. Got a job. Must have been worth it.
Resume had nothing to do with it, it was the envelopes of cash under the resume.

Cost of doing business.
