Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

All signs are pointing to an issue with the payment gateway, rather than a simple website glitch. I’d wager there is definitely a scramble happening at HQ.

Re: Flair/Lynx Merger

Here's the whole thing. Not a whole lot of substance here if you ask me. Dear readers, Two small Canadian ultra-low-cost carriers are in advanced merger discussions, and the deal could be announced within weeks, two sources told The Airline Observer. Flair, an airline part-owned by Miami private equ...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair

You mean the Facebook group started and run by Westjet employees with the sole purpose of spreading malicious and often untrue stories about Flair? Got receipts on that? That’s a pretty heavy statement. I mean, don’t get me wrong - everyone knows Swoop was started with the sole purpose of taking ne...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair

Oh I'm sure 777 er, I mean uh, Stephen Jones was pleased with the results from the $0 sale lol. The stuff I've seen on the FAN page (ironic acronym noted) is more about canceling flights, delivering customers bags and actually responding to concerns. You know, real airline stuff... but pobody's nerf...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair

In a statement to The Globe, Stephen Jones, Flair’s chief executive officer, denied the carrier has violated the laws and said Flair will co-operate with the CTA. “Flair Airlines is a Canadian airline and is controlled by Canadians both in law and in fact,” Mr. Jones said. If that was true, why is ...

"Be age 30 or under (on the closing date of the application period)" https://www.faa.gov/levelup The American version of ATC is a lot more harsh in this regard, but the reality is true in NAVcan as well. http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=66366 This old thread shows the attitudes and po...

Re: Any updates on training?

This was my experience during my FEAST test as well. Not only that, everyone other than me seemed to be over the age of 30 meaning they were probably applying for FSS anyway. Just curious, how does over 30 have anything to do with FSS? There are people of all ages in all streams. "Be age 30 or unde...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair

my opinion: This will go away, likely quietly. It's a bad look for the CTA to suspend Flair's AOC, thus eliminating (even for a short time) all of those jobs. It's also a bad look that they did not investigate this sooner - 777 has been involved with Flair for quite some time, and I believe held boa...

Re: $10 fare

I love the myopic vision of pilots :) AIF and airport fees are not what they seem. Most airports incentivize flights in various ways so they may take in $25 in an AIF but they return that with other hand based on the incentive structure. So is Flair eating the AIF - doubt it! But then again pilots ...

Re: Any updates on training?

Why did you decline, if you don't mind me asking? Job security concerns, life changes, no longer interested, not what you were aiming for? I've been wondering about the security of the job to be honest. This pandemic has shaken up many industries. I think I'd still accept an offer though. Fair ques...

Re: More Trouble in Paradise....

I've got a few close friends working for Fair and they are adamant on how consistently strong the load factors have been (other than statistical seasonal dips of which affects every Airline) including in and out of certain airports that were shunned by outsiders like yourself. They are also adamant...

Re: First flight on Flair

The Air Passenger Protection Regulations would still hold Flair responsible if a through passenger missed their second Flair flight because their first Flair flight came in late. I don't think they would be. They are two separate bookings. The regs would still apply for both flights though (ie if t...
