Cheap flight sim alternative
Hi all, I'm looking for a cheap flight sim alternative to MSFS or X-planes. I don't need loads of visual scenery or performance. Just something to mess around with descent profiles and working the MCP panel with the FMC and getting used to boeing logic. I have a 2015 macbook pro and a 5th gen ipad. ...

To the previous two posters: Are you guys in the queue at jazz? Im not jazz, 703/04/05 multi turbine time no jet time In your case. I would expect 3-4 months after interview to hear back whether yay/nay. Could be longer, it depends on what AC is trying to do regarding their flying block and current...

Call other TC offices in Canada not just the one in Ontario. You'll have better luck calling Edmonton.

Re: Backpain
The 737 has notoriously bad seats. There are various adjustments you can get out of the seat but the padding is firm foam and the sheepskin doesn't do much for comfort. When I first started flying the 37 a couple years ago I had back problems too. Especially the lower back and migrating to the mid b...

Re: New pay scales
I agree that FO pay should be 100K to start. That puts it at roughly 2/3 of first year captain pay which I think is fair given the responsibilities and requirements of the job. AC first year pay should double but I doubt we will see that. Agreed on both, pay needs to come up commensurate with exper...

Re: Job Posting
I did my hirevue interview about 3 weeks ago and answered truthfully. I received a call the next day questioning one of my answers in regards to pay, to which I replied honestly. I decided not to continue with the application process and withdrew my application. I was one of the people in the March ...

They're all standard hr questions such as; "What are your biggest weaknesses?", "Out of all the candidates, why should we hire you?" and "Tell me about the toughest decision you had to make in the last six months". The response you give should be in the STAR method. https://www.themuse.com/advice/st...

I flew floats for 4 years and I was the only one who wore a leatherman but funny enough everyone wanted to use it. Just be wary on who you let use it. I once got mine back with the blade all buggered up cause some meathead used it to cut lockwire...yeah I know. Anyway, I still have and use it to thi...

I don't mind the north. Made a pretty good career in the arctic and abouts but it didn't give me the lifestyle that I long for now. Also didn't pay enough.

Re: Survey work
Hello All, I am wondering if anyone has information on how survey companies in Canada work. The spring to fall months are what I assume is there bread and butter but is it even possible for some surveys to occur in the winter months? Do a lot of survey companies transit a/c to the US for there off ...

Oooo I like these!
About 8 years ago I just finished my CPL ride and after the debrief the CFI calls me asking if I had passed. I said yes and he says "good, I need a hand".
