Re: DOH merge.

WRONG. A seniority merger will happen. No Air Canada Express operator flys aircraft with more than 75 seats, and one will NOT be set up that does. Its crazy to think for even a second that there will be another airline with a separate pilot list flying around in large jets owned by AC. The Contract...

Re: Working at Air Canada if you don't drink

Ill second the non-issue statement. Sometimes I go out, sometimes I don’t. Either way, I don't drink and I’ve never felt judged or belittled for it. To be honest, more times than not I get complimented for not drinking.

Now, in the 703/704 world it was a completely different story...

Re: PML Portal

I think AVCan readers need to remember most people on here that talk about the current PML not working are either not at Express or didn't make it through the process. One would have to assume they were never going to make it to AC regardless of the entry point. The voices missing from the site are...

Re: PML Portal

Is it all bad news for B scale? Doesn’t sound like there’s a PML, low wages, and slower upgrades with the LOA? I think AVCan readers need to remember most people on here that talk about the current PML not working are either not at Express or didn't make it through the process. One would have to as...

Re: PML Portal

If memory serves me right... Didn't mainline hire 80% from Jazz in every groundschool for like 3 years or something? I'm flying with tons of ex-Jazz pilots. Everything in waves I'd guess. The devil is in the details. Almost everyone who’s gone over to mainline was on PML 1. Guaranteed interview, wi...

Re: PML Portal

Couldn’t tell you an exact figure. We have 1600 pilots at 4 bases from coast to coast. I personally know 5 that have gone to the ME in the last couple years and a dozen who attended the Emirates road show in western Canada last month. A few of them have interviews as a result. 30’s probably not a st...

Re: PML Portal

Jazz also has lots going to Emirates/FlyDubai as well as heading back to the 704 carriers they came from. Beware of anyone advertising anything remotely implying a guaranteed interview with a Air Canada.

Re: PML Portal

They and only they know that. Anything you hear is just conjecture. I’ve been hearing since the day I got hired in 2015 that mainline would be picking up the hiring any day now.... still here and feeling farther from mainline than ever. Bait, and switch? How does the saying go? If the shoe fits?

Re: Voyageur

It looks like if you did a whole year at Voyageur at best you’d make about what you’d make at Jazz. The only extra thing you might pick up is a strange disease... With the exception of the odd unattached pilot with wanderlust I’m not sure how they’re going to entice people over there.

Re: Bargaining idea

This is all playing out to Air Canada’s master plan perfectly. This whole contract was a union bust and they are playing both sides like fiddles. The strongest thing any union can have is solidarity in its membership. The greatest loss in the 2015 contract was the loss of solidarity in the separatio...

I think you’re wound up a little tight my friend. Spend some time down in Florida with the good ol’ boys and you’d quickly understand that his response was a joke to relieve the tension of the moment that just occurred.

Re: What is the Average Time to Upgrade from Express to Air Canada Mainline?

I just spoke to a new hire the other day that said the training was abysmal and he’s been stuck on rsv, only getting call outs for McMurray red eyes. Said he’d come back to jazz if he could. That’ll likely change as time goes on, and he gets more senior but it’s hardly sunshine and rainbows for new ...

Re: PML reorganization

Positiverate27, take a look at the memo again. There is a line that says this program will allow for quicker processing of candidates from the original video interview. It isn't very specific, but hopefully that is an indication that guys like me and you won't have to start the process all over aga...

Re: PML reorganization

It’s quite frustrating for the folks who have been in the network for nearly 3 years, have completed the video portion and now have to start all over from scratch. There seems to be little difference between this and OTS except you have to work at an express carrier for 2 years minimum, most of whic...

Pasco pilots are paid par or better than Encore aren't they? I'm not sure where the advantage would for WJ to have Pasco fly Q's When Pasco asks for a raise to wages and working conditions, Saretsky will say Encore is doing it for the same price. Then he’ll say the same about Pasco to Encore when t...
