Re: US Regional FO - Year 1 - $206,000 Canadian

Ripplerock, What is your "line in the sand" for percentage increase for the deal I have one vote of 5200. My individual vote will matter little. There are a few things to note. I'll try to qualify why my "line in the sand" is where it is. It's my opinion only. Everyone needs to make their own choic...

Is this what a union feels like??
Sure doesn’t feel like ACPA, that’s for sure.

Re: Air Canada pilots should negotiate at least to match Envoy and Medevac

Do we follow the laws and regulations mandated by our own employer and regulating body? Yes we do. Do we make these difficult decisions in the interest of safety with hundreds of people breathing down our neck in real time? Yes we do. Are you advocating for us to bust duty and thus opening up ourse...

Re: Air Canada pilots should negotiate at least to match Envoy and Medevac

Do you ever say anything new? It’s getting old. “Hold the Line” “hold my beer” “hold my hand while I’m on the picket line for half of what I say I will hold out for” They also don’t pay for the bmw. It’s advertising. Maybe you should sell space on your pretty lanyards to fund your strike pay? I'm h...

Re: Air Canada pilots should negotiate at least to match Envoy and Medevac

Maybe I’d get an answer from accountant of why WestJet got a 24% increase in salary despite being adamant they would only get max 4% (6x his estimate) and why he was so wrong if I follow it up with “HOLD THE LINE”?

So here it goes….

HOLD THE LINE

Re: Timing the cycle

Sheesh.....Accountant and their Ilk have you guys talked down below 55%. Impressive. So where do we go from here? Oh ya....I know. HOLD the f*&#ing LINE! I’m still trying to figure out how WestJet got 24% given the obvious market forces only demanded 4%. 6 times larger than accountant expected. How...

Did I strike a nerve Beeker? I've read nearly every post you've made. Here's another opinion for you. Not worth the time. I’m still waiting for accountant to explain WestJet getting 6x his estimate, why they got such a high # and why he was so far off. Maybe they were just unprepared. Who knows? I ...

Re: Timing the cycle

Without the WJ deal, people like accountant would be screaming 2-3%. Now the new minimum expectation is 24% over 4 years. Even the AC CEO has publicly stated the WJ deal is within his expectations. 24% is not 55% If you get 55% I will send you a dinner. Myself and everyone would be shocked. It ain'...

Just my opinion, but there are far too many people on this forum taking this "self professed expert" Muppet seriously. You'd almost think we had an inferiority complex that needs some form of self-reassurance. We need to justify our steadfastness to no one but ourselves. What they or anyone else "t...

You’re on record saying WS should get 4%, nothing more. They ended up with 6x that. What were the reasons they got such a high # (by your assessment) and why were you so far off?

Re: Timing the cycle

That’s not what I was asking. I’m actually curious if any of you think the freight situation will get worse and whether you think this might affect passenger travel which we probably won’t notice for a while. Prior to the 777 most long haul aircraft had difficulty doing it all. All the pax. All the...

Re: Timing the cycle

It is absolutely incredible that you are able to lead a normal life on strike pay. I have the utmost respect for you and all those that have that sort of financial intelligence as we have seen how easy it is to grow accustomed to each pay bump along the road. That being said, I am absolutely disgus...

Re: Timing the cycle

Flatpayers had a choice. Not really victims. I would wager every pilot over the last 20 years took a paycut to join AC. Anyone who passes on arguably the most lucrative career in the country because of low pay in the first 4 years of a 30-35 year career doesn’t understand basic math. Voting with yo...

Re: Timing the cycle

Well I hope that the hundreds of pilots who lowered wages in Canada by accepting flat pay will finally be able to band together and make amends! Hold the line! Interesting strategy blaming people who came here hoping to make things better, but no blame for those who negotiated and defended flat pay...

It’s more like thousands… close to 3/4 of the airline at this point.

Re: Timing the cycle

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t accountant adamant that WS pilots would only get 3-4% on their last negots? By that metric I’d say his underestimate of 12-20% will put us right in the wheelhouse. :smt040

Re: What's the over and under pilots can focus on contract negotiations

I not asking what the MEC’s (or the pilot group’s) stance on it is. I’m wondering if the company has tabled anything regarding scope. By the way, the scope let in the failed MOA was not the reason it failed. All it was for were some 50 seat RJs, operated by a non-Jazz carrier to provide some transb...
