Re: 5 pilots on 737 laid off
For Air Canada to lay off pilots, there would need to be a system bid that results in a surplus. Pilots are laid off based on that surplus. They wouldn’t go through the process just to lay off five pilots.

UL 777FO to UL 330CA would make sense. You could hold UL 330CA at 10 years seniority and be working around 12 days as a 777FO.

Re: ACPA LOA?
Vote will hopefully be NO. October's bid will be as if we voted YES and reflect those positions for next summer. Negotiations will take place after bid close for less concessions. November's bid will be delayed until December in hopes of a YES vote after a rectified MOA presented. If passed probably...

Re: ACPA LOA?
DBM’s don’t expire in 12 months nor do the training extensions; they will be locked in our contract. The only thing to expire in 12 months is the Wet Lease which can be extended with ACPA approval. The only other expiry is the Jazz flow program in 2025.

Re: Mainline hiring
Your first four years are guaranteed 75hrs a month, but you get paid the greater of 75 or hours flown. Ex: if you fly120 credit hours, you get paid for 120hrs.

You’re probably thinking about the B737 Cockpit Companion by Bill Bulfer. This is a great book for all variants of the 737.

True, but there will be 194 more pilots on the street that otherwise would've been protected with full pay for 6 months. Might be. Can't keep laying off and also be ready for a quick recovery. There isn't going to be a quick recovery. Even if a vaccine came out today that was 100% effective it woul...
