A crash I witnessed early in my career and some lessons learned.
I have been very lucky so far in that (knock on wood) I have had to attend only one funeral in aviation after 37 years of being a pilot. This is the story of my friend Daryl, our friendship, and the events of August 7th, 1997. It's been more than 25 years, but I still think of him frequently. I met ...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Yes we get tonnes of government spies posting on AvCanada, I did an ip check  Did you know death due to unknown causes is the highest cause of death in Alberta? More trash that's not true. You're quoting an article from 2022, referencing stats from 2021 as if it's relevant now. https://calgary...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
You're literally making things up in your post. It vexes me when people use words like 'exponentially' without knowing what the word means. For example, this little brown runny gem: "It is more correctly understood as for every 800 people who took ONE injection, one died. For every 600 people who to...

This thread is about a terrible accident and directly related events.
If you want to start a thread in the gen section about cockpit cams, be my guest.
I'll be toasting any further non-relevant discussion in this thread.

Heh one account is all I have needed here for the last 25 years or so (before we got hacked and had to move to the /forums 2 url) ; it keeps me busy enough and now that I have seen what a dumpster fire this is, I don't care enough about this topic to make a bunch of fakes. But that's just me :smt047

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Just a quick note on AvCanada polls:
Literally anyone can make multiple accounts on AvCanada.
Any account can vote on a poll.
One person could be responsible for the vast majority of the results, there is ZERO quality assurance.
Using AvCanada polls as proof of anything would be ridiculous.

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Are you telling me that the governing bodies of every country in the world are together on this? That doesn't sound correct. Covid vaccines are made and available in every country in the world. Last time I checked, lots of countries have really different political opinions and it defies belief that...

Re: Would you go to AC?
I've flown corporate for most of my career. It's an entirely different lifestyle and money is only part of the package. Most corporate ops fly far less than the airlines, but tend to be on call more often. Some owners have last-minute flights all the time, and some have their schedules planned month...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
It was initially thought that mRNA didn’t enter the cells or leave the injection site. No scientist has ever thought that. In order for it to work, mRNA travels to our thigh muscle cells to tell them to start a special project for a day or so. What it does NOT do is enter our cel nuclei. It can't p...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Funny you mention that I tried to get a non MRNA jab when we were forced back in ‘21 and no one had them. I think the J&J one got pulled. By the way, mRNA has been around for years, it was used in the Ebola vaccine back in the day to great effect. non-mRNA vaccines take longer to develop, which is ...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Sulako, mRNA is not a vaccine in the traditional sense. It is a gene therapy. Never been used on humans until now and the animal tests turned out, let’s just say unfavorable. I have no problem with vaccines so I’d appreciate you stop calling me antivax. I am against manipulating your genome, so tha...

It only climbed to 800' after departure and landed less than 2 minutes after it took off. Intriguing.

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll
Been vaxxed, of course. Don't regret it. I was so happy when it was first released, because I want my parents to be safe. And they are. Quick question for the people who don't believe that vaccines work. What were you doing in science class? Vaccines are literally a wonder of the modern age. Even Tr...

Re: Corporate operators with more competitive vacation
I've never heard of that and I've been in corporate for the last 20 years in the GTA. I wonder if that's a local thing relative to where you live? The corporate flight department structure is pretty different from airlines. Light and midsize jets frequently have only 2 dedicated crew. Heavies are mo...

Re: Dedicated or seat swap?
I have flown CoCaptain as the vast majority of my corporate flying so far; we swap seats regularly - but 'regularly' kinda depends on the flight legs and the trips that month etc. It generally is a hassle to swap seats after a short hop, especially if we are doing a quick turn - but we have that opt...

Bede, If you look through their post history they had a Cat 1 medical about a decade ago but didn't pursue it as a career.
