Re: 2022 Corporate/Charter Salaries

Sorry folks. Corporations don’t publicize wages for all of their employees, including pilots. Unlike the airline side of the industry which relies on more of a formula for each pilot/union member, there is more freedom with settings wages for a given individual in the corporate world. The experience...

Re: C337 - Skymaster

One thing to consider. Which one is more likely to keep your group 1 MIFR current for future jobs. Losing currency on that maybe define your path. Same question came up for me years ago. To keep it current or to try something different within the same employer. Just something to consider.

Re: US Management?

Skyservice has changed dramatically over the past decade and mostly for the worse. The emphasis was always "service" under Russ Payson and that has long given way to increased profits. If you want competent management for an aircraft or a fun and professional place to work, try some of the smaller ...

Re: 12,500 hrs. 45 years old. A320 Command, Beaver Otter and Floats

My thoughts. Corporate flight departments are insecure to talk to airline pilots. The reason airline pilots aren’t finding jobs, is that everyone knows COVID will end and no one wants an employee that is going to up and leave to go back to another employer first chance they get. Simple. Corporate jo...

I learned to fly at that airport while I was in high school. I was lucky enough to have instructors to stop me doing stupid sh!t when I didn’t know enough not to. This gentleman was not so lucky. Could have been so much worse. He and his wife are very lucky, as is the wholesale club for low customer...

Re: Convert Logbook to Map Animation

Logten Pro used to be able to export to google maps. I believe that is no longer possible due to changes google made. I left Logten Pro for several reasons (mainly cost) and went back to a newer version of my old Excel based logbook. Excel can take lat long points and put them over a map. I’ve playe...

Re: P180 job ad: "don't apply"

Well, I would suggest that the Piaggio can now be purchased for roughly 2 million USD; which is considerably cheaper than the nearly 7 million my old company used to get them for new. This could possibly allow an individual with lower net worth to operate this aircraft. This would mean that operatio...

A-CDM Trial was delayed indefinitely today due to lack of support from users. They still want us to comply with the OCS slot reservation even though the AIC 1/19 is to be rescinded. IMO this is the GTAA trying to make an airline shoe fit on a GA/BA foot. No thanks. This was made worse by the fact th...

Re: language proficiency

To get English proficiency you must be tested. I am a native speaker and had to be tested to receive a letter stating that I can speak “aviation English”. Seriously, I had to be tested at a flight school that was certified for that training by an individual that spoke English less than I did. There ...

Quite the shame. I have several years of experience in this type and although it could be a little temperamental to get going, she was a dream to fly. I’m not sure of the conditions which lead to this event, but the 7X had amazing brakes and a very solid park brake. If you forgot to release it you c...

Please keep speculation to yourself. No one, not the ground crew, or other “inside sources”, knows the factors that caused this crash. To speculate on one idea that may have lead to an accident simply spreads rumours not based on facts. The TSB will provide a cause(s) in time. The facts are that the...
