Re: SIMAir

They posted a job ad for Saab 340 crews, but still no idea what they're doing! I wonder what the "good opportunity for advancement" is for the captains. http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=134391&sid=f4887f890fea407324cd4ee4141214fb Line indoc Pilot, sim instructor, move in to manage...

Previously they were offering 10 GDO's/month and 93K/year for DEC to start. That's actually not too bad, to start. Not sure why most pilots think they should all be making $200,000+. Nothing smug about the reply, at all. He asked if anyone has received I call, and I answered his question.

Re: Turbulent times for WJ ahead?

When the best thing you can say about your own company's admittedly negative news is that the competitor's may be worse, well... Westjet may have less exposure to Alberta than it used to, but it's still their base and bread n' butter. The mainline is a mature, plateauing company with the headaches ...

Turbulent times for WJ ahead?

Couple of quotes from a very recent news article, where Saretsky was being interviewed: "We have an agreement with Boeing to defer three deliveries. We are going to return three leased aircraft in 2016 and all six in 2017. We have 24 Bombardier Q400s, with nine more coming this year, and three more ...

Exactly. That is the figure I am looking for.... Re: 777 captain for $175K

Remember WestJet remuneration is based on 5 items: 1). Salary plus O.T 2). ESP....20% of your salary can be put into an account and matched by the company. You have access to it after it vests in one year. 3). Profit share twice a year. Amount fluctuates and is not a certainty. 4). Restricted share...

Re: 777 captain for $175K

So looking on Canadian pilot pay, a year 7 WJ captain gets $185/hour. 1000 hours/year = $185,000 +20% ESOP = $37,000 T4 total: $222,000 Actual gross cash in hand: $222,000 - $37,000 (company ESOP) - $37,000 (employee ESOP) = $148,000 Max RRSP deduction for 2015: $24,930 Taxable income: $222,000 - $...

Re: Redundant Rules and Regulations

Again, if you meet the legal vis requirements to land, you can legally taxi in after landing.

Do you really think you would be legal to land, but not taxi in, and have to stay parked on the runway????
