Re: Can someone tell me what type of plane this is?

 I did'd know that a registry like that would be publicly accessible. Especially not to that degree of detail.

Thanks guys!

Can someone tell me what type of plane this is?

This is the one that got the ball rolling in my head. My lady and I were enjoying a beautiful summer day at Rubby lake when this plane landed and taxied to the dock we were hanging out on. I fell in love—again ;) At that point I knew a lot less about aviation and planes than I do now, and I don't kn...

Re: Hi!

Relic, what is the cheapest 4-seater I might be able to find? I'm thinking it might be more realistic to get into one if I can get a couple of my friends pumped up on the idea and help out. I think it wouldn't be too hard ;) After browsing some of the links mentioned above I was pretty surprised to ...

Re: Hi!

Thanks 180! Although purchasing my own aircraft is the most distant part of my dream, it's nice to see that there are some out there than I can at least imagine being able to afford. I think for now I have to focus on saving up to do my PPL at Air Hart. Then I'll decide what to do next. Gotta do wha...

Re: Hi!

Thanks zero! Just what I needed to read. Some encouragement. I've been looking at Air Hart Aviation which is not on the coast, but I would be able to do my PPL there from start to finish on floats, which as far as I understand is a massive advantage considering that's what I really want to fly. This...

Any private floatplane owners on here?

I'd love to read about your experiences as a floatplane owner and how you got into one.

Re: Hi!

Thanks for the feedback, Relic. Appreciate it.

It really seems like if I want to fly floatplanes then buying one is the only way. Unfortunately that's not a realistic option for me anytime soon. As far as I can tell you need a few hundred thousand.

Re: PPL - Change of Heart?

This thread is very uplifting. Although not to the same degree as the OP, I was having some doubts about whether I can really afford flying as a lifestyle and only maybe as a career. I'm mostly interested in flying as a means of transportation. I grew up in Vancouver, watching floatplanes fly in and...

Re: Serious answers where will I get funds from?

Nice to see I'm not the only one starting from scratch at 30… Though admitedly my goal isn't an airline carrier. I just want something to split my time at a computer with. Have any of you recently done a CPL with float rating in BC? How much (on average) would that cost if I was ale to pay up front ...

Cost of RPP -> PPL

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and the idea of becoming a pilot.

I'm hoping someone can answer this for me: Does it cost much more to start with an RPP and then do a PPL than go straight for the PPL, or is the difference negligible?

Hi!

This is my first post on AvCanada. I figured since my dream is to someday fly a floatplane in BC, I'd introduce myself here. Disclaimer : I may ramble a bit… I've had the dream of flying planes for a long, long time, and I've finally made the decision to do something about it. I'd like to share this...
