imagine what a field day Gilles would have if that happened on a Sunwing plane with a foreign crew

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013
1. Try to have Sunwing shut down because they are not "Canadian" thereby having all Sunwing employees lose their jobs. So explain to me please why Sunwing would have to shutdown operations just because they don't get all these contract (be it dry or wet lease). Can they not be successful with what ...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013
I'm pretty sure Westjet, Air Canada and yes....Air Transat questioned the CTA decision. Not to mention many pilots from many company's including Sunwing.... Continue questioning Gilles motives if you like, it's a free country after all... For my part I'll continue to question yours Fasken.. Cheers ...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013
3 different posters question my "motives" inside of 24 hours: Trey Kule, OPEC6 and Rogerdodger2 I will go further than “questioning” your motives. First Gilles sends a letter to the CTA questioning whether Sunwing is controlled by Canadians. If he is successful, Sunwing is effectively shut down and...

Re: Sunwing to hire foreigners using the LMO method
Gilles, Unlike Sunwing, Air Transat does not put its passengers on aircraft flown by pilots who have failed PPCs given by company check pilots unless these have been re-trained and subsequently passed the test Completely untrue, be vary careful what you say Monsieur. You insult every pilot at Sunwi...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Euroview, while I can appreciate your view, it appears as though your airlines agreement with Sunwing may be the only one that is reciprocal. You obviously haven't read everypost because it is extremely obvious the numbers don't add up. How can you more than double you fleet and have more pilots fr...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Hired Canadian pilots in the spring, even upgraded some of them shortly after. Hired in the fall, type rating included, though only temporary but will more than likely be full time by spring. No lay offs. That's great so what's the excuse to not completely lift the type rating requirement for all h...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
I didn't contradict myself. I said that as far as I (me Gilles Hudicourt) am concerned, wet-lease pilots should not count in either direction. Gilles, You seem to have lost your way. It is easy to count how many pilots move in and out of Canada for an airline. You have done so yourself. From what I...

Are you seriously suggesting that Indonesia, population 242,325,638 can't find 10 or 12 pilots who could be trained to fly Transat's A330?

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
I didn't contradict myself. I said that as far as I (me Gilles Hudicourt) am concerned, wet-lease pilots should not count in either direction. I don't think you are stupid, but your position on the issue of not counting wet lease pilots does come across as stupid to me. Just pointing that out in my...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Sorry Gilles but I don't understand your logic. I think you are saying that because CIC doesn't know how many wet lease pilots are here means they shouldn't count when looking at reciprocity? I think they should all count and have a question for you to make my point. Which of these statements do you...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Why does it matter if this is fasken's first post or 50th? How funny is it that fasken getting support from another guy who clearly had to make up 2nd account just to hide who is really is too! I'm suprised the mods didn't ban you after your first post. rd2, fasken, you know you are on the wrong si...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
So if Sunwing did 4 wet leases in the summer and brought in 15 wet leases in the winter, that those pilot shouldn't count towards reciprocity? Gilles is pointing out how if 4 Sunwing wetleases go to Europe in the summer, yet 15 come from Europe in the winter, it is hardly "reciprocity." That is not...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
I didn't contradict myself. I said that as far as I (me Gilles Hudicourt) am concerned, wet-lease pilots should not count in either direction. Sunwing, however, has been counting the pilots it sends overseas on wet-leases as fulfilling their obligations to CIC on reciprocity. I say that if CIC acce...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Gilles, I think Transat has done a great job in equalizing the playing field with regards to sending Canadian pilots overseas on Wet-lease. This may even help offset the total amount of Foreign pilot ratios coming to Canada in a 1 year period. Canadian vs. Foreigners, Apples vs Apples. What is the ...
