YVR Base

Hi Guys, how long would it currently take a newly hired mainline F/O to be able to hold YVR as their base?

Re: Hiring Tanker/Birddog pilots...Conair and who else?

Not so sure about the retire young part. I don't know of any pilots that retired "young" from Conair.
Magic Wand, do you mean that in a good or bad way?

WJ Mainline Interviews

Any word on when interviews will be starting up again at mainline? Does anyone know how many there are still in the pool?

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions

Hi Guys, any word on how many more direct entry Captains will be hired? I'm really interested in contributing to this startup and was hoping for a call but no luck so far. I've got over 4000 hrs TT, currently flying as a F/O on a heavy turboprop at a 705 operation, lots of PIC time prior to this pos...

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions

No sense in posting pay scales outside of Canada. If you want to live in Japan go for it. As for myself and most Canadian pilots, we're only interested in raising our families here in Canada. I spent a good portion of my early twenties living and working outside of Canada and it only solidified my b...

Here's a copy of the link posted by Realitychex over on the Westjet forum. I would have to agree that Skytrax ratings are a bunch of industry bull.

Re: Required education

To answer the original posters question no you do not need any post-secondary education to be invited for an interview.

Re: YVR for New Hires

Thanks for all the replies guys. A lot of good info there. One more quick question though: As a new hire if I were given a YYZ LCC 319 position and then a month or two later a YVR 320 FO position comes up that I were able to hold would I be awarded the position considering there would be no addition...

Is the recruitment department doing interviews right now? Wasn't there a bit of a break around Christmas?

How many people do you generally need below you to be a blockholder? Does it vary with type?

LCC Monthly Schedule

Hi Guys, trying to get an idea on what the monthly schedule will be like at the LCC. So far I understand "fair share" bidding process with 16 days maximum worked per month and no reserve. Has there been any new info?

If you were a new hire commuting to YYZ would this be the best position to try for?

YVR for New Hires

Hi guys, just trying to get a guage on working at AC and have a few questions. My family is in Western Canada and I would prefer for them to stay here rather than moving to YYZ. What's the current wait time for a new hire YYZ based EMB FO to get a YVR based position? How about YWG? If a new hire was...

Ha! Best line I've read so far this year. No post is safe on AvCanada, there's always someone waiti...

A good place to try would be Wings Over Kississing in Flin Flon, MB. I'm pretty sure they hire low-timers.

Another nice spot within the same range is Invermere. Similar prices and a nice little town too.

Any news on the plans for PASCO's float fleet? Still just using the Beavers or has there been talk of a new type?
