The average person solo's before that. I would move schools and get a second opinion. Would not hurt.

Re: Need some advice

Well first off if you are contaplating going to a place that you put in brackets that you hope you don't get in to trouble then that tells me that you are not ready for an position on the line. This tells me as a pilot that the hours are more important then the safe operation of the aircraft to you....

Re: Cpl flight test hours

I do think you need to tell the guy that did your research for you to piss off rotorspeed. When I think back to when I got my CPL I was the one that researched my information. Part of learning this industry at the commercial level is navigating the CARs. I admit they can be difficult but as a pilot ...

Re: Insurance and liability - commercial ops

They are not being financially compensated on a non revenue flight with no passengers on board. As I recall you need a commercial license to fly for hire or reward. For sure ten hours of free flying is for reward. And for sure if the flying in being conducted as company training it is being done as...

Great way to start a career by breaking rules. I’m sure TC is not allowing this.

Re: Insurance and liability - commercial ops

It’s not a matter of insurance. You can not operate a commercial flight with out having a commercial license. In order to log it on a commercial flight the operator must have it in their OC they operate 2 crew with a qualified pilot in the right seat. To be qualified you need company training and it...

Re: VFROTT Logging

Here is how I think of it, if you have a CPL or PPL with VFR OTT and no IFR how could you log Actual Instrument. You require an Instrument rating to fly actual IMC. With VFR OTT you have to ascend and descend clear of cloud and stay clear of cloud at cruise. I would say you log it VFR and maybe put ...

Re: TC to FAA Conversion

you will also need an FAA Medical. There are some fees as well each exam is Approx $165 one for the commercial and one or the IFR and I would also assume one for the Instructor Rating. The if I remember correcty the lic fee is $200USand $50US for each additional rating. You will also have to do a ch...

Re: Toronto Star article on Temporary Foreign Worker pilots

So I wonder if Service Canada will extend my EI Claim as an unemployed pilot until there are no Foreign Pilots hired, as they are the department approving the use of Foreign Pilots.

Maybe all of us pilots on EI should go request benefits till they are not approving the use of Foreign Pilots.

Re: NavCanada... digital maps... ?

I just subscribed to fore flight and got the Bad Elf plugin, I think that you get a lot for your $150, if you purchased all the plates, CFS and charts for a full year for just one region you would be close if not more then the $150. with Foreflight you are always current and legal as far as what you...

Does anyone know where you can get block time on an IFR airfcraft. I was hoping for a multi but that would depend on the cost.

Thanks
