Re: Waterloo PC12, FO
But I am a respected low-timer with a real job Excuse me sir, there may only be 1 respected lowtimer and as you can tell by my name, it is I, "thatlowtimer". I'm only joking of course, but seriously, what the hell is a respected low timer anyways? That doesn't even make any sense, if you're just tr...

Re: Pilot, wing walker die in Ohio air show crash
DAR, you really do a good job of pissing people off with your paperwork STC crap. Get off your office computer and get back to work. I believe your boss has released a memo that you signed saying you'd stop avcanadaing at work, so where's your STC for you ignoring your memo. Last time I checked the ...

Did you know that 60% of statistics are made up? Most statistics are only 80% true at best.

But rookie, what if there's not another runway within 30 minutes? Extra gas does you no good then. I'm more referring to being stuck in the middle of nowhere and needing to get home because its -40 or things of this nature.

Aww why not? That would have been fun, we could have made some excellent points that nobody had ever said before on the previous 13,000 threads.

Re: Seneca College grads heading to Georgian and Jazz?
Oh, well I stand corrected thanks. But doesn't anyone see the problem with being hired based on your interview and not having any experience? I understand that they build time after the interview, but for it to be pic time they would either have to instruct or go to the bush. Neither of which prepar...

Re: Seneca College grads heading to Georgian and Jazz?
Well there's 2 scenarios that I see as possibilities with these interviews, A) They do hire some fresh CPL that they interviewed, but this is merely to fulfil a contract obligation with said flight school, because seriously why would some 250 hr guy/girl get the job. I can assure you that it's not d...

Re: Seneca College grads heading to Georgian and Jazz?
An interview? Oh lawdy, what are the chances that its not even a typical pilot interview with someone important? I know a guy who has a "guaranteed interview" after 1500 hours. That at least makes a little sense in the fact that you could answer their questions about working together with the skippe...

Re: Turn Coordinator vs. Turn-and-Bank
.That's an interesting side-question: larger aircraft do not have a turn&slip indicator or a turn co-ordinator at all. When I first started flying an aircraft that did not have one, I found myself wishing it did. I kind of still do, actually. I wonder why they are almost universally considered redu...

You just have to wait for an accident to happen, then they'll make sure it "never happens again".

Man, I hate to tell you this, but your possible future employer is reading this and if not somebody else is and they are talking about you. And they are laughing at you. And they WILL light you up on your first day. This may be an anonymous sight, but lets just say you'll stick out like a bad bollyw...

Re: Air Labrador Twin Otter Hard Landing
I feel that it is very challenging, requires two well co-ordinated pilots 2, really? You feel like you need a copilot to say, "ah yes sir, you're in ground effect, really nice job sir." Having said that, if an engine fails then the second guy would come in handy, but by no means do you require what...

Re: Marijuana Poll
Just because we voted saying we thought it was ok for people to smoke on their time off doesn't mean that we participate in the activity. Just throwing that out there because I know folks are looking at this thinking that 30% of pilots smoke dope. Now we don't test where I work, but none of us are u...

Sometimes I really have to work hard at getting guys all fired up... Sometimes I don't. All trolling aside, I and people that I work with find that a sweep is usually sufficient. Don't get me wrong, when there is contamination that doesn't stand a chance of being blown off or has a legitimate impact...

Re: De-Ice Question
I would love to see these tests, I have no idea what airplane they were using but it's B.S. Even just having a little bit of experience I can positively say that whole table salt mumbo jumbo is garbage. What's the percentages of loss of lift, something like 30% loss of lift and 40% increase of drag....
