There needs to be a way to hold elected decision makers personally responsible for acts of severe negligence and garnish their income for life.
I am just loving watching Mandel flail these days as he is once again shown to be an incompetent buffoon.

Re: Cus a used GV just isn't good enough to spread the gospe
I fucking hate these people, my entire family back in Indiana is into this prosperity gospel bullshit. One of them gave their entire modest $15,000 inheritance to a televangelist. Meanwhile their kids are all missing adult teeth and their well is contaminated.

Has the future of the Alberta Aviation Museum at YXD been secured or does the city still want them out?

The outlook for extensions beyond that date will be dictated by progress on political approvals. Don't you mean the outlook for extensions beyond that date will be dictated by demand for slum housing by Russian and Chinese "investors"? Nope, I don't believe he did: http://business.financialpost.com...

Re: Price of oil and aviation
I know all to the major players are taking big steps to reduce road travel to and from the oil sands area. My brother worked up there for a few years, they stopped letting guys drive in because these mandels would work a double shift and then insist on driving back to Edmonton or Calgary immediatel...

Re: Mascouche airport to close in November 2016
Is there is a city in this god damn country that isn't proactively trying to blanket itself in slums? Leaving the displacement of aviation out of it entirely, It seems like every fifty years society has to re-learn this lesson.

On some sick level I would rather see every trace of the airport destroyed than see the hangars and other aviation related buildings turned into pretentious restaurants and bars for the assholes who will come to live there and celebrated it's destruction. The thought of connect2edmonton type morons ...

Off the top of my head I can think of about half a dozen pilots I know with tattoos, including two women.
It never would have occurred to me this was really an issue, unless say you had an Insane Clown Posse tattoo on your neck.

Re: Project: Parkland Airport - West of Edmonton
I still eagerly await any FBO related news out there, I strive to steer as much business away from YEG and ZVL as is within my power to do so. I would like to believe that the markets in Edmonton and Calgary are strong enough to support a Henriksen Jet Center type facility like those in Texas. In th...

And that is what I find the most ridiculous. The very same hipster morons who were (and might still be) jizzing in their pants for this "Blatchford" endeavour will in the same breath talk about how badly Alberta needs high-speed rail and how the very future of Alberta is dependent on such a link bet...

Re: CYXD World Renowned Redevelopment Update
The way I see it, with this "project" obviously headed for scandal and failure combined with the Conservative leadership race and a provincial election that is no more than two years away and could come much sooner there may still be some opportunity to save YXD in some form. Where is my Envision Ed...

In any event someone in Edmonton told me that the the ex-YXD tenants are continuing on with their lawsuits against the ERAA, is that true? The lawsuits seeking injunctions likely went into the dumpster after the expropriation went through. From the horses mouth, Morningstar is still pursuing their ...

EFC will be having a new building built in the spring.

Re: Nostalgia...comment from another forum, your thoughts?
I considered myself part of the Edmonton aviation community, but the only focus I perceived in the last twenty years was surviving to fight another day. But ultimately nostalgia is sometimes all you have left. My family is originally from a dreadful little town in Indiana. (My parents moved to Alber...

Because I heard that man's name dropped a thousand times or more by the anti-airport hoard who were always talking about how the slum to be built at the airport would be a magnet for hipsters from all over the world to settle in Edmonton to pursue unspecified careers in everything...

I love how buying new aircraft is presented as the obvious solution, but just letting them continue to fly from an existing facility at what will be mostly a barren wasteland for the foreseeable future isn't apparently an option. The CPR is bailing on a couple of sites over the next few years, they ...

I spent yesterday thousands of miles away but none the less feeling sick as it sunk in that this had really come to pass. It was like knowing an innocent man had just been hanged. Quite frankly, in my long experience young women who are inclined to starting a family tend to have it stamped on their foreheads.
I can only think of a single woman in my entire career who pulled the back-to-back mat leaves and she didn't come back after the second one.

After much reluctance I broached this subject with my sister's in-laws who live in the area, and their reaction was "they sure are getting riled up about those silly little planes aren't they?" They didn't understand why they didn't build closer to the city, but didn't have any particular objections...

Today was a bittersweet moment. Sitting in the cockpit of the 737 and doing the run-up, while looking out over the rest of the infield and the runways. Knowing that for me, this was the last time ever. We had a conversation in the cockpit (all 3 of us) right along the lines what Hipster Exterminato...
