Re: Sunwing declares profits of 71 million last year

Air Transat has now joined the Foreign pilot show and they are not going to back peddle or change things when they know they will profit on it, either will they care about guys on lay off status etc. if they cared they would have paid to get them rated on a 737NG and done some sort of agreement with...

Re: Serious question for Gilles

I hate to admit it but A$$rope has a great question. I'm kinda of getting sick of Gilles messages. What would you rather have? Sunwing hire all in-house, get all their own planes, have their costs sky rocket, have to do seasonal layoffs, or permanent layoffs or shut down and put hundreds of pilots ...

Re: Montreal CTV News: Air Transat could turn to foreign pi

Gilles perhaps you should do your homework. Mark Williams was a late comer to Skyservice. I'd have to pull my records but he arrived approximately 2000 ish. Skyservice was using foreign pilots from the first season it ever operated as a charter and Mark had nothing to do with it!! I was replying to...

Re: Serious question for Gilles

If you don't understand the difference between the hiring of foreign pilots and the use of wet leases, you should think about staying out of this conversation. You may not appreciate that your ignorance is embarrassing and highly annoying. There shouldn't be a single employable Canadian pilot voici...

Re: Serious question for Gilles

I kind of agree with Assrope on this one. Stop and think about it for a minute and one could raise some questions on the matter.... For the past while everyone has been feeding Gilles (On AT's payroll) the internal processes used at SW/CJ to obtain approvals as well as ins and outs of establishing ...

The only ones to thank is yourselves Gilles. You boys introduced this to sunwing. Hopefully there won't be any non reciprical foreign pilots allowed to fly in Canada next winter thanks to you :) Oh and I forgot. Your President is Mark Willliams. He was using foreign crews when he was at the head of...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013

Dear Mr Wallflower... I take a little offence to your statement that the majority of us CANADIAN pilots who work outside of our homeland are stealing jobs from locals! Unless you are stirring the pot, I suggest you do a little research into what countries we work in and WHY we are there, and I'm ce...

Re: CanJet Ready To Go It Alone

Hogster330.... Other than strengthening the resolve of those at AT who wish to do the narrow body flying, I fail to see how this could possibly be good for the Transat Group as a whole? Additional capacity and competition on the Southern and Trans Atl flying is probably the last thing Transat wants...

How many airline executives from Air Transat does it take to screw in a light bulb? I don’t know – better hire external advisors and see what’s cost effective! What external advisor is going to advise Air Transat to bring in a new aircraft type, crew, maintenance, manuals, and facilities when they ...

Re: Canjet going under (again)?

all of the elements are confirmed. transat goes with the in house narrowbodies, canjet pulls back and does adhoc work with a few planes. Not so fast. You might all eat your words if they decide the only way to stay in the race is to extend their agreement and fleet with CanJet. And I might lose my job if they don't . So lets' wait and see what happens before sending out the party invitations. It's very hard to feel sympathy for someone who makes...

Re: Canjet going under (again)?

Transat A.T. is losing money and the Executive bonuses were not paid for the second year in a row. Graham was quoted as saying that bringing the narrow body flying in house would save $ 20 million a year of the $ 50 million target savings. The proposal is probably to do the flying and maintenance a...

So here is a question for you YHZGOOSE, lets pretend you personally have 100% ownership in all the airplanes that are being flown by foreign licensed pilots who are flying these airplanes on a Canadian FLVC would you still be satisfied there is nothing to worry about? If I had 100% ownership I woul...

Define '' large insurance claim against foreign pilots''? Geez, will it be a similar threat of class action caused when the media said TS was using L-1011 part on 330's? Is that the sort of suit you mean?

Re: Letter to Dan Adamus, ALPA Canada Board President

Gilles, have you thought of finding out who the insurer is for Canjet and Sunwing and forwarding your concerns to them, why wait for something to happen? Maybe they'll have their lawyers look into it and suspend their coverage in the mean time. You have clearly presented a good case on here and so ...

Gilles is correct. No decision has been made on the PROPOSAL of TS bringing 737's in house. The waiting game is on and there are a lot of factors to consider.

Re: Letter to Jean Francois Mathieu TC Chief enforcement off

There are 200 foreign pilots flying B-737s full of passengers illegally in Canada and probably without insurance coverage and no one is doing anything. Come on now Gilles, stating the above is really going a bit too far. There is NO WAY CJ or SWG would dare risk not having the aircraft or pilots in...
