Re: 737 to 787 Upgrade Times

It always amazes me how treads get derailed so quickly.
I open this one honestly looking how long it takes to get 787 and the last posts talk about WV and Porsche.....really guys?

Re: Pasco pay

I would say that if you have kids, Encore schedule has no competition with Link.
Link is dayshift with no overnights or standup shifts which allow you to drop your kids at school in the morning, nap, pick em up, do whatever, dinner put them to bed and go to work, repeat next morning.

Re: Pasco pay

First year 66.9 x 80 credit guaranteed ×12 month= 64224 gross. 16 days max work days a month. Perdiems very variable 400-800 a month
Depending on your experience you could be placed on higher payscale than the above.

Re: fifty reasons to find a new instructor

What's a better way to teach attitudes during initial training? I’m not a big believer in set attitudes, at least not at that stage of the game. For ab initio an ‘attitude’ is simply a lack of movement on any axis. Yes there will be some distance to eyeball some reference in front of you below the ...

Re: What to expect as a new hire

Anyone got an update from last months interviews? I did mine two and a half weeks ago and haven’t heard anything yet. Have there been PFOs sent out or is it just a matter of patiently waiting? Just emailed them today and they told me they are still reviewing candidates interviewed in July.

Re: Good Luck with that WJ......

I think that 90% of leisure travelers don't care much about what type of aircraft they fly. I usually ask my friends when they travel abroad about the plane they flew and they give me that look...... LHR? Neither Ryanair nor Easyjet operate from there, so If you were to continue your journey to othe...

Re: Good Luck with that WJ......

It's WestJet. Pretty much everything they have done has been calculated. I'm sure there was lots of research done to the viability of maintaining this route before they decided to go ahead with it. Also keep in mind it's Stanstead which is a lot cheaper to fly into that Heathrow. I flew round trip ...

Re: Advice

If you are current you could, after writing the commercial written, book a flight test for the commercial ride. You will have to book a couple of flights with an instructor to train spins that are not part of the EASA syllabus. PM if you have any questions, I converted my Spanish EASA (JAR) last year.

Re: South African CAA Cpl to Canadian CPL

Agree with Colonel: 1) Get medical 2) Commercial written (pretty easy) 3) Commercial Flight test (Big difference with most countries, you have to do spin) 4) Multi Engine flight test (if you have 50 hours multi logged in past 12 months, the test is not necessary) 5) write INRAT 6) Group I instrument...
