Re: Sunwest layoffs
How does one commute with 10GDOs per month? I'm actually curious. I'm also one who prefers lifestyle over money to a certain extent (although the two usually go hand and hand) but at face value GGN offers nether. Quick upgrades usually happen because of a high attrition rate. There is usually a reas...

Re: new Classic Airline
Why does jazz need to start a new airline for the classics? To operate at a lower cost? Didn't they just cut wages at the current company?

So what is the difference between flying a caravan SPIFR to flying a Navajo SPIFR? (The only diffrence I can think of is the Navajo went mechanical on me more than the van) Or a PC12 captain with glass cockpit experience relevent to a Q400? All of these jobs build good decision making skills. What's...

Does anyone have experience using the positive space travel through ATP Instone? Seems like a good deal for all members in good standing and their immediate family members.

Re: "Commercial pilots need stall recovery experience" artic
A stall is a stall is a stall. Send them up in a bloody Citabria! :bear: :bear: Agreed! I wish TC would see it this way as well. Instead they feel stalling a 767 and a Pitts special are completely different, so therefore a useless training exercise for the new and improved MPL pilot! Why bother wit...

So let me get this straight. The US has just made the regs tougher for 200 hour wonders to sit in the right seat of an airliner with the 1500 hour rule. Meanwhile in Canada we are going to make it easier for them! Please show me a Canadian airline job posting that asks for less than 1500 hours for ...

Re: Co-Pilot Time Officially 1 for 1
I'm not saying that co-pilot time should be less valuable. What I care about is the MPL system. Currently airlines require a decent amount of time for the right seat. I fear this will change in favour of cheap labour. All of our hard earned experience will count for nothing as airlines seek the lowe...

Re: Island Lake C207 crash April 3, 2013
I find it hard to believe that the pilot was pushed on this occasion, seeing as the boss is in ZSJ, however it is the company culture to never say no. I remember the day Superior and Wasaya stopped flying. There was a freezing stratus layer at about 200-300' and very low vis. The 207 pulled in comp...

Re: Island Lake C207 crash April 3, 2013
Talked to some of the pilots who work there last summer/fall. Heard some of their horror stories of how their boss was pressuring them to fly. Told them to get outa there and find a new job but they "needed the hours." Also recall a time when Wasaya and Superior airways stopped flying one day due t...

Alta flights
Anyone have any updated info on them? The usual, pay? Sched? ect. All I can find is from 2004. It all seems very negitive. I would not mind moving back to Edmonton if the company has changed for the better though.
