I am looking for reference in CARs in regards to DOM/PRM being an independent contractor. Is this allowable? I know other roles can be but not clear if DOM/PRM can be

Good Luck getting into the US now for work.. I know many that have been turned way. and the US border patrol is onto the sneaky way a lot of agencies have been getting AMEs into the country.

there are a few agencies offering high contract wages to work there. no need to go full time. It is the contractor time again.

The lack of a license prevents me from doing more than elementary work on my aircraft, except for my homebuilt. yes there is lots of A&P jobs. but if you aren't a US citizen and require a visa to get into US to work companies won't look at you. Read the fine print in job ads must be US citizen. I have applied at Alaska airlines i was even there canadian on call mech but was turned away for not being us citize...

So the wife has been asked by her company to relocate to the US (west coast). But this poses a huge problem as i can't go with her with out a job. As of yesterday all 23-May-2019 all R1 staff were laid offf.
Except 2 guys in Africa who were told they will get return tickets to Canada once they finish working on A/C 216. Then they will be laid off as well.

The unfortunate part is that they will find people willing to work for that wage. Because there's always those out there willing to work for less just to be near a plane. Sad!

I am contractor so a letter from boss not going to happen. Main reason for getting A&P is to open more doors for overseas work or contracts south of border.
