Carson Air King Air Medevac

Hello, From previous threads on this site, it seems the Medevac side of Carson is comparatively good. I'm looking to get some updated info for their King Air 350 F/O ad: - What sort of experience would make an applicant competitive? I currently have just better than all of their minimum requirements...

Re: How is it Out There?

2 pilot position offers*

I wasn't able to do a road trip but I did use ZED passes to visit companies in person - makes a big difference. Many of the northern companies and seasonal companies are hiring.

Hoping to stay on topic:

How long is it from ramp to flight-line these days? I'm just hoping for a rough estimation of what to expect if hired.

Re: Keewatin

Does Keewatin ever hire pilots during the winter, as in November/December? Would 500TT all 702 S/E make someone a competitive applicant?

Re: Airline Career Outlook

Thanks for the input from all. av8ts, thanks for the note. Although Encore appears to provide more guarantees, I'm not sure it's the better package overall. Jasper, thanks for the suggestion. The primary reason I'm interested in the airlines is their relatively long-term stability, which given my yo...

Airline Career Outlook

As a young low-time pilot, I certainly wouldn't exclude myself from pursuing a non-airline career; however, I'm curious what everyone's opinion as to the outlook for a 250 hour pilot hoping to pursue a career in the airlines is nowadays? It seems to me that with Westjet's younger pilot group and pla...

Pipeline patrol for a low time pilot

Hi,

I'm hoping to get some suggestions for pipeline patrol companies that hire 200 hour CPL/group 1 IFR pilots.

Thanks!

Re: Feasibility of flying while in university

Thank you for the words of encouragement. To answer Mr. North's question, I have been fortunate enough to have had a very well paying part-time and summer job for the past four years, allowing me to save up a decent amount of money. Along with possible scholarships and some money saved by my parents...

Re: Feasibility of flying while in university

Sorry to bring this thread back.

For financial planning purposes, roughly, what'd be the salary someone could expect to earn per May 1st - Sep 1st season, with the first one on the dock, then hopefully flying floats the next four seasons thereafter?

Thanks!

Re: Flight Instructor as reference

Thanks for the advice from both of you.

Unfortunately, I don't know my CFI very well and I've never flown with her. I'll likely go ahead and use my flight instructor though.

I have some decent work experience for my age, so I'm hoping that might help.

Flight Instructor as reference

Hello,

Is using your flight instructor as a reference considered an acceptable practice when applying for a first flying job?

Thanks

Logging Instrument Hood Time

Hello, I'm hoping to get some clarification as to the rules regarding logging instrument hood time, specifically as a CPL student during their hour building stage post-CPL flight and written exams but without their IFR rating. I've been told by a number of instructors that in order to log instrument...

Re: A few questions before I write the CPAER tomorrow

Hi, I wrote my CPAER exam two weeks ago. You will need to know all the formulas required for the exam - I was specifically asked a question about VOR reception range. My best advice to you would be to make a cheat sheet with all the required formulas on one side and all pertinent information requiri...
