Re: The next PML wave
FWIW, the conditions laid out for Jazz PMA by Air Canada and Jazz are not set in stone.
Air Canada has already changed the hiring process for the Jazz PMA; so to say they must hire a certain number of Jazz pilots is hopeful at best!

Re: The next PML wave
FWIW, we signed our contract with the conditions listed for the PMA. This list was signed by Air Canada. Now a year later, the PMA conditions have changed!
Should ALPA step in? Probably!
Is it the easiest way to get an interview at AC? Absolutely!

I think we have heard enough of the FL60 issue. Please let it go!

Re: Fleet growth 5 new Qs, 5 new 705 within the next two ye
Unfortunately, Jazz is no longer a lifetime career option. This was confirmed from Jazz during the roadshow telling us that our pilots are too expensive to be competitive with other Regionals for AC. I still don't know why the payscale for FOs goes to 15 years (from 12 yrs) and Capt to 20 yrs (from ...

Re: Fleet growth 5 new Qs, 5 new 705 within the next two ye
If the Jazz pilots said NO to the TA, it doesn't mean strike! The TA proposed by ALPA was 90% good. The problem is that the 10% that was shit, wasn't worth voting NO. Lots of carrots dangled in front of the group. Actually, it was more like leverage, or a guilt trip. "If you vote NO, we will lose th...

Re: Fleet growth 5 new Qs, 5 new 705 within the next two ye
What does the Captain side look like? It's another "not a B scale" situation. I believe before the new contract you would be paid based on your years of service, now you start at year 1 captain pay once you upgrade even if you've been at Jazz for 10 years. Does that apply to all new upgrades? Or on...

Pay Scale for those hired Prior to Contract
New Hire payscale
I've never seen a pay scale where the FO makes more then a Captain!

Amazing the kind of growth you can have when you lower 1st year pay to sub-encore level PROC_HDG This isn't where they are saving. As per the memo, we are now operating with less crews, and less reserve coverage. This is supposedly what our competition does, hoping we will all do WDOS. I see mostly...

Re: In the Pool.
Adapt or die...that is a good one. We didn't "adopt", because, salaries for 100% of the pre-contract pilots got a 2% pay raise. Only new hires salary was slashed! It will take more then 10 years to lower the salary budget to a point to be competitive! Why wasn't the "New Business Model" that Jazz in...

Re: In the Pool.
The most junior Captain awarded a Captain seat was hired April 2011 and won't be trained until March 2016!
The majority of pilots upgrading now we're hired in 2006.
Still a long wait...and when the PML list is exhausted, riga mortise will set in just as it was before the PML was introduced!

Guys, Seriously? Are you all really stressing out that much over getting a job that pays $37 G's a year? For @#$! Sakes Jazz pilots make me sick. Don't be such a douche! Re: August Equipment Results
So is Jazz purposly hiring more low time pilots than those with more time and experience, because of the current wawcon ? Or are there other reasons ? From what I understand they are looking for pilots who are going to stick around for a while. By hiring 3000+ hour pilots, there's a strong chance t...

Who voted for your new contract?...Jazz pilots or the pilots of Skyreg, Georgian, Encore? They might as well have. They helped make the decision for us. I, for one, am embarrassed that we voted in this contract. The main points that suck were overshadowed by the PML. 6 months into this new contract...

Re: Duty Regulations
I'm not sure where people are getting the idea of less pay from. I can see shorter days and more days because of it as the downside. If airlines, however, need an extra x% pilots to do the same work, and it's across the board at every airline, then supply/demand has swung in pilots favour. So don't...
