Re: More Airline Follies. American and dangerous Mother and Baby

if you can't handle the stress, then do us all a favour and find another job . Customer service is a tact. This was completely unacceptable.
Kudos to the airline for the apology and for the fellow who stood up to this crap.

Re: Companies repeatedly posting

To me it looks like high time flight instructors are hit hardest, as Jazz and Encore won't hire them without atleast 200-300 plus multi engine pic (G1000 type of experience), and smaller operators fear they will scoot to the airlines in a couple of years.

Re: PILOT JOBS

Same here .... exams complete 1500+ on the experience. Had my résumé looked at by couple professional pilots.. The key is the multi. I have under 50 Mult , so no joy. The multi engine experience goes to guys who ramp it to flight line, or you need to have an internal reference to make it to an inter...

Re: PILOT JOBS

Looking at the northern thunderbird FO kingair 350 job posting - 2000 total time and 400 multi pic...previously rejected candidates need not apply.....doesn't seem like it's buyers market.

Or wait a minute .....poster probably meant Airbus 350.

Re: Montair Info Updated-2017

Sucks to hear your experience. My interview long ago with them was a supposedly "panel" one. It made me nervous initially. Looking forward to the phone interview all prepared I got to hear various accents in the panel interview. The jokers were politically incorrect on the questions. The questions w...

Re: Simulator hours

I doubt TC will let you count one dual flight to satisfy 2 requirements , which means if you did 1 hour dual night time under the hood , it will count only as instrument time and 'not' night and instrument both. FYI hood time is not cunducted during night hours. Why not? After your PPL can instrume...

Re: Diamond Flight Centre Experience

DA 20 has to be the simplest single engine out there.
It's basically a glider with an engine. Made out of plastic and the prop is wooden.
I must admit the way you described your experience, it did make me chuckle .....some people !! This industry is filled with too many big guys.

If I was in a position to hire people, I'd hire this guy for his character alone. This industry needs more people who will stand up to unscrupulous owners.

Re: Wasaya job ad

So, you just started somewhere recently and got rated but applying to them now? That may be part of what scares them off, to come off as a guy that's going to jump ship quickly when something different comes along. Also, make sure someone has proof read your resumé and cover letter. Judging solely ...

Re: Wasaya job ad

That job posting is BS. I sent them a resume 3 times over the last 3 months, TT 1300 plus for FO position. Haven't heard back, not even an acknowledgement. I can bet you they are hunting for guys with PPC or time on type . Probably, When you can't staff aircraft this is the quickest way to get them...

Re: MRU Hits Fence

Please explain to me why rejecting on grass is a bad idea? Perhaps I can put that gem of advice in my every filling toolbox of expirience. Or did you mis-speak and mean to say, have an abort point prior to commencing your takeoff roll, on a grass strip... In terms of using brakes, it can mess thing...

Re: MRU Hits Fence

Yes, you're right...I forgot Sundre isn't at sea level. DA = 4845ft PA = 3589ft Takeoff ground run (on pavement) @ 2450lb = 1370ft Takeoff dist over 50ft (on pavement) = 2500ft Ground roll on grass = 1370 * 1.15 = 1600ft Runway length: 2500ft Also, the runway has a 0.5% upslope. The POH doesn't say...
